Why not? The first television broadcast was 1928.
In 1937 the video monitors already had a similar "high resolution" like our SD television pictures nowadays.

I think Mike's pic is more about camera that's recording a taking offs and less about the TV :D

A couple of unedited screenshots from last sunday's mission "Okinawa".
These screenshots deal with Dauntless missions.
No. 34 is Gubi, no. 25 is me.

Screns have been captured using Nvidia DSR mode (4x + 50% smoothing) + 4xMSAA. Click the images to view the fullscreen (4K resolution) pictures.

In No.1 and No.2 picture...that was my AI rear gunner "Esmerelda", she did it alone.  I had nothing to do with the kill.  I was just shaggin' ass.
