That first pic looks damn cool, thanks Gerhard.
Otto might feel quite home when he sees that.

Just watching the 4th "CHEECH" pic:

We need round wheels for the cars too.

Great shots Mike, thank you for sharing these 4K pics.

BK engaging an enemy Blenheim.

At first it's a precision job, the Bf 109F-4 is perfectly suited for that type of shooting with the guns concentrated in the nose:

Unfortunately the firepower is sub-par, sometimes this results in getting into uncomfortable situations like here when BK and his victim are reaching the sphere of AAA action.

Time to score the kill, the situation becomes critical: At this distance your "friendly" AAA doesn't distinguish much between friend and foe.

Not enough punch for this target - that's one of the common 109F issues. Poor BK has to pull up to avoid a collision, the Blenheim gunner says "thanks, great idea" and puts a few bullets in BK's kite, while he's sending a fervent prayer to heaven that AAA might miss him:

=ST=MjTom pulling out from a Blenheim attack.
While 190s pack a punch, a Blenheim can put up with much too:

With the weak 109F armament even skylla the killa has a hard time against the Blen:

This is a true story:
When we flew this mission last sunday, bb was the first to arrive at the enemy ships.
He's been flying a CANT Z.1007 Alcione (Kingfisher) medium bomber with torpedo loadout.
During the approach at the target a discussion started about the torps of the Z.1007 and how to use them.
Conclusion was that the Motobomba "FFF" torps would circle in the water and that they'd be dropped at parachutes, so the best way to drop them would be in front of enemy ships.

When bb arrived above the first enemy destroyer, he hit the bomb release keys and nothing happened.
Discussion started over TeamSpeak and we concluded that he might have forgotten to open the bomb bay doors.
So bb did another approach, tried to drop torps again, and once again nothing happened.
Some other clowns circled around the destroyer, but none of us could spot bb's torps.

That much that good.

Sometimes NTRK files are pretty useful to reveal the full truth.

Whetever button bb wanted to press a minute before he arrived at the destroyer, this is where he dropped the first torp.
The target destroyer can be seen 10 miles to the lower right on the screenshot:

Second torp drop seconds later, different perspective with the target destroyer to the lower left:

Both fishes are in the air way before the drop point.
Please note that this is a fully zoomed perspective, things look much closer than they are:

Fishes are in water with no chance to reach the target.
Slightly left to the center of the image you see the target destroyer.
Above the destroyer, quite to the top of the screenshot is bb.
Half way down the image from the destroyer and slightly left to it is fish no.2.
At the bottom of the image in the foreground you see fish no.1 entering the water:

2nd plane attacking the destroyer was Loku.
While his attack pattern looked promising the destroyer's AAA gunners put a sudden end to it:

No. 3 on the attack was Gubi.
Nice approach and a well carried out attack, however the torps seem the have failed and simply disappeared in the water.

Approaching beam on all main guns get a shot.
Bow or stern approach and you will be in the blind spot of some guns.

That's true, most of the time at least.
I think the fact that we're all just armchair pilots contributes to us taking risks at times no one would do in real life.
Unless you're a cat of course 8)
