British AAA
« on: May 25, 2014, 09:16:11 AM »

I know that besides the 40 mm Bofors we gotta have more British AAA.  I know that there are instances of both of these AA guns in Men of War.  Possibly just a conversion?
20 mm Polsten

QF 3.7 inch
Roughly the equivalent of the German 88 mm FlaK and American 90mm, but with a slightly larger calibre of 94 mm
Initially there were HE and shrapnel shells, both fitted with a time fuse. Fuse No.199 was igniferous (i.e. powder-burning) with a maximum running time of 30 seconds. Fuses No.106 and 107 were mechanical time fuses; both proved unsatisfactory. Fuse No.208, with a maximum running time of 43 seconds, became the standard fuse.

I've seen a 3.7 in a museum. They're not small! I wouldn't like to dig one in.

cheers

I bet they are!  They are about the size of the 88 but a bit bigger.  I guess no one is interested in something as important as this!

Very good idea!! :) Flak/AAA had an important role in aerial combat, but in Sturmovik is a small number of these weapons only. Except AAA on the ships however this is a special case.

Yay more replies! Lol, yeah same with the US 90mm.  All of these had an important role in the late war, in the Pacific and on the West Front.
