Mitchell Requests
« on: May 25, 2014, 10:46:23 AM »

My requests are simple:
1- The fixed engines mod for the b-25A, A_Late, B, B_Raiders, D-5, D-20, J-15 and J-22, by which I mean the actual engine, not the cowlings.

2- A B-25J with the square-ish air intakes and the exhaust. I've been told it's impossible to fix the landing gear doors, but if anyone could, that'd nice too.

3- Riken's B-25A_Late without the guns and with the solid tail like in the picture instead of the glass cone

whats wrong with the gear doors? and btw the "squarish" intakes also known as the High Top intakes, where not factory original, they where part of the hayes mods for the B25, just letting you know that the flat tops like we have in il2 are correct even for j models, the hightops were just part of a carb conversion to make them more reliable in the field

The gear door on the nose doesn't look like it does in the game. In real life, it starts slightly above the bottom of the plane and has a smaller door halfway through. When the gear is lowering, the whole thing comes down, but the gear is down, the big door closes, leaving only the small one open. I was not aware of the hayes mod, always nice to get more info. Gear demonstration:

Gear lowering:

Gear down:

Notice you can barely see the door on the last one, because only half of it is open.

Good evening Blackout,
In this request of yours about the engine...

Do you mean just the engine image?
At the moment I am not in my home pc in which I have all the airplane skin-templates, but most skins have
included the radial engine in one of the parts that make up the airplane skin.
Some airplane skins have them and some do not. it is up to the artist-skinner to paint them in (or include a photo of
the engine in that skin space) for it to show up in the game model.
I am not sure of how much of a diference one can notice in these engines apart from each other of the diferent airplane
versions you are asking for. The player would really have to look close up into that hole to see what engine it really has
in there.
Perhaps it might be best to post also what type of engine each one of those airplane versions used, so the
artist can research around and try to get a good photo of how it looks like, otherwise they are all going to be
using a regular Curtis-Wright R-2600. Like I mentioned before, I think the engine image is on the skin, so for each
airplane that is going to be painted, the artist must also know for sure which engine type it used according to the
airplanes serial number and skin-paint-art it had on.
To tell you the truth, I cannot tell them apart.  They all look alike to my eyes.

Max, I meant the 3D model. They added a new 3D engine too in that fix. I can show you some pics if you want to.

It's a 3D model engine made by Pa_Jeromino. Here's a picture of an exposed one:

Somehow, for some reason, I was able to get the new 3D engines into the B-25B and the B-25D-5NC. Nothing appeared in the A, A_Late, B_Raiders, J-15NA and J-22NA, while the tail moved to the nose on the D-20NC.
B-25B:

B-25D-5NC:

Probably because there are no difference in gunner arrangements between those two and the C-25NA (From which I copied the engine). Now, can someone help me with the other 6 planes?

And I was able to add the engines to the J-15NA and J-22NA by copying them from the J-1NA. Now if only someone could help me with the A, the A_Late, the B_Raiders and the D-20NC. Those don't have a similar plane model, because of gunner differences.
J-15

J-22

So, what do you guys think?

And I just noticed the nose gun from the J-1 is right in the middle there. How did that happen? Help?

I still have a request. Did anyone else notice the random floating wires in the J-15? Can it be fixed?
