I don´t think so its good idea. Slovakia maps are the most beautiful maps what we have...by my opinion. But...can´t I see my texture from Ardennes?  ;D ???

It is starting to look good Oscarito.

Are you going to change the trees?
I wish we could see more of these trees in our winter maps...

Trees without snow in the winter time, just does not look like winter to my eyes.

Yeah!!
"Arnennes_fields", the most beautiful winter texture (imho)
And I agree with you. Slovakia is the best map in IL-2 because its very well populated tows an villages. Guess buildings were placed "one by one" instead of "poped up".
But I don't like the texture in the winter version, so... :D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About the trees:
Snow covered trees are not very well visible even from relatively low altitudes so that the result is something like a monochromatic environment. My goal is to get a pleasant visual experience in flight even at expense of some real aspects.
Anyway, at the beggining of winters, soon after the first snowfalls, trees do not appear totally covered by snow but only the ground does, so that its not so unreal if you see by this point of view...  ;)

I have to say that winter Slovakia is the only good default map. And the only default map I still like to play.
To me the version by may-bug is even better. And still use that version.
So personally for me not necessary to change that map. Unless your creation is so much better of course.
If I remember correctly may-bug was involved in creating winter textures for default Slovakia. His version had brownish colours in fields and was less saturated than next version.
Not sure exactly how the difference came. In DBW both winter versions are available.

By the way, landscape is not fully covered with snow so trees should also be left partially visible.
In load.ini you can vary with Wood0 to Wood4 and select for some layers snow covered parts.

For random trees remember that in winter time trees have no leaves anymore.

Hi!

My Intel processor can not load Landscape Details in "Perfect" mode...
So, do You know some trick by which I could associate trees (for example, "furniture tree line" object) to a given texture (lowland_fields) in order to generate them in "Excellent" mode, perhaps with lower density?
