Hello Ladies and Gents...

Here something easy to do, as we do already have all we need in IL-2...

Seaplane version of the Zeppelin Staaken:

We already have the normal landbased variant as a mod... and we already have the floats to stick to it... We need a volunteer modder to do the magic... :)

Fiat Cr.20 Idro
This one we do already have as mod in its land based variant...

Adding floats would do the job. Any taker?  (Sorry I do not have the necessary skills to do so.)

Heinkel He.51 Floatplane variant:

We do already have this mod:

If a voluneer modder can add a pair of floats with the riggings, we can have this:

But here it doesn't fulfill the request guidelines :D </nitpicking mode off>

Thanks for the ideas CD. I think Beo is the float expert, isn't he?

Best regards - Mike

Gents... As I said in the title, they are mere suggestions... not requests...
If I have to make a request, I would do it in the proper way, giving all the possible data, tech pictures, historical background, as per the request guidelines...

A suggestion is only giving out an idea so someone else interested can have a starting clue for a further development.... As it was about frankenplanes, and there is ONLY ONE place devoted to this kind of aircraft, I was following the logic to put this topic in that very place. Absolutely no harm intended.
Unfortunately I'm not a modder, due to lack of skills, but I try to give my two cents by contributing with sharing ideas, giving some suggestions about easily achiveable things ( not a modder but understanding something about modding), Always with deep respect for everyone, and grateful for what is so kindly and selflessly given to us mere mortals....

Cheers...

Admins, please feel free to move this topic to a maybe more appropriate place, but please don't lock it or remove. I think that ideas are at the start of every achievement, and for this reason they are so necessary.

And, BTW, the fact I posted abut three possible seaplanes, doesn't mean it is a topic only abut seaplanes or flying boats.... It is about possible future frankenplanes, as per title, not regarding if seaplanes or land-based, wheeled... ;)  - I agree that Beowolf have a very Strong connection with seaplanes, but (Thanks God!!) he is not the only one here, as I know there are some other very talented modders around...

No harm done CD, I hope nobody's offended.
Well, let's see whether someone picks up these suggestions, I'd definitely love a few more seaplanes in IL-2, just had a lot of fun in a wildcatfish online yesterday.

Some time ago I made request for a thing which is actually just a frankenplane, and in comparison with all other frankenplanes an easy one:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=39805.0
Take your regular L-39. Put on random weapons and gunpods. Fin. Having this one would be useful for simulating a lot of modern conflicts, starting from Gulf war and finishing with current Ukraine and Syria clashes.

(I am sorry if rules of this thread do not allow reminding of some long-forgotten frankenrequests. In that case feel free to remove my 5 cents from here)

Suggestions for future frankenplanes

I suggest a Flying Tank. (a franken-tank)  :D
Yes it did fly and it was real WW2 invention.

these suggestions are all fine and well, but this style of thread is absolutely opposed to the purpose of the requests thread.
why is this so hard to understand, gents?
we do this so that it does not just degenerate into a huge wish list of what people would like to see.
it's something no modder should be expected to sift through, with limited info, which they then have to go and research further themselves.
you went wrong at the title already. this is not a suggestions/ideas thread. it is for well-organised and researched requests, preferably just one type of plane, so we can get specific.
so, although the intention is good, i'm afraid the format is terrible, for the requests section.
this belongs in the lounge.
