some guys have mentioned alien craft, which i think would make for some great 'save the planet from alien invasion' scenarios, lol.
more specifically, the tripod walkers from 'War of the Worlds' would be really epic.
heat ray weapons would also be cool, perhaps a little modification of the lasers used in Gerd's space battleship.
flame-thrower weapons is also something that we could make use of in IL-2, historically there were many variants of flamethrower tanks in WW2, so it doesn't have to be all about alien stuff.
we have WW1, and War of the Worlds was originally set during this time period - just imagine hordes of little WW1 biplanes trying to attack a huge martian death machine stomping across the English channel, lol

I was hoping to spend sometime with Stainless's Mod tool to create some steampunk inspired fusion between an airship, aircraft carrier and a destroyer...currently this idea is locked firmly in my head. Real life is a cruel mistress.

I think that the mission builders would have a field day letting their imaginations run riot in such a scenario. IL-2 Vs War of the Worlds. Sounds epic!

Could somebody do the Dassault Super mystère and Dassault Ouragan, i think they are not too difficult to do and they would be very useful to play six days war. I think there is a lack of french post WW2 build planes.

I'd like to suggest my recent request for the Gregor FDB-1. I think that that could be a great frankenplane. Just take the fuse of a Buffalo, the wings of an I-153, and the landing gear from an F4F.....it's foolproof!
