Mick, you will have to advise me on exactly which type of install i should be doing the classchecking, as an example.
i ran it on my Modact 5.3 game, which suffers the silent open canopy problem, but the doublon txt is 0 kb with no classes doubled whatsoever.
i also ran it on my TFM-412 install, which kicks out a huge amount of doubles, but this is simply due to the way JSGME installs the files, and none of these doubles are due to me adding conflicting mods. in effect, a stock TFM-412 install kicks out this doublon file of +- 1MB size.

... well then your prob isn't due to a class conflict ...  ;)

I was just wondering if your prob could come from a class conflict since UV3 comes with a lot of new class files ...

So the explanation must lie somewhere else ...  ???

however, why i asked about which version i should be testing, is that the Modact 5.3 version i mention, does not have Tiger's mod.
in fact, as i've mentioned, i'm not using it anywhere atm, due to the issues i have immediately had when trying to.
it's only working (by default) in old TFM version, which also happens to be the only install which has correct canopy open/ close sound
still, this is just the one issue - i have yet to get any light shed on why no sounds/presets i use with the new folders method, simply doesn't work.
if i could figure that out, i might well be able to fix the sounds myself, but with no stable starting point to work from, i'm simply stuck at ground zero

... may be you have also tried loading UV3 prior to any other mod ...?

Mick, i'll carry on testing this over the next few days, and will post up further results/info in the UV3 thread, as we are kind of derailing maty's request here, lol

as soon as i get a little more organised with this, Maty (i.e: get my shit together, lol) i'll move the OT discussion of mine to the UV3 thread in the sounds section, and thus tidy this thread up a bit for you ;)

that's right, no other sound mods or sfs files, other than the 2 sas_sound sfs's in the SFS_AUTO folder.
i'm busy d/l'ing that pack you mention, as well, just to see if it can help me to shed more light on what's going on with the latest sounds... ;)
will get back with any results asap...

That's a lot of answers in one night. Fly, I try to avoid the engine mod unless I have to use it to fly the aircraft (Diff_FM for 4.12 is nowhere to be found). It's a great mod, but I'm using a very low end PC and the smoke effect (Which overlaps 5 times) combined with the longer B-25 startup makes it unbearable to fly. It doesn't change much in the A-26 (Only one exhaust, so less smoke), but makes the P-61 and B-26 unpleasent to fly at all, since they can't be flown without the mod.

yes, it comes standard with modact 5.3, no need to add any Diff_Fm mod to it...
