It is possible to paint and create new buildings for the IL2+mods using the already available
3d-models we already have.
I couldn't find boxes that are close to required proportions anywhere, that's why this request was born. Most of current Il-2 buildings have rather large and un-soviet looking roofs, and flat-roofed ones are either way too small or have different shape. If you happen to find one that fits and can share it, I will owe you a lot of beer, Max!
AH! Thank you good friend, you will buy me a barrel of beer
Many times I look at the static objects we already have in the game, but only look at the shape of it, not
what it is painted on it.
When you inspect the shape of the object, you can imagine that same 3-d-model to be something else.
To create these type of 1930 public housing complexes we already have a large building with a slanted roof design.
I have used it before to create a German "above-ground bunker"
The "Hochbunker"
Those buildings were very big , very well built, and they saved many civilians when their cities were being bombed.
Now the same shape of this 3d-model can be used as this building you are asking for.
Look at my old post and see the screenshot of these bunkers.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,35572.0.htmlThe object I am talking about is the one on the left side of the image. It is the big tall 3d-model with
a rectangular shaped base.
The emergency doors I painted on the model buildings (red doors) are exactly the proper size for our game human models.
There is no need to make the doors bigger or smaller. This model will give you some good ideas as to what you can
paint on it and create these housing complexes.
I cannot remember which folder contains the original model, but you can check out the folder where I have
my bunker version and you can use it to create your new houses
