I only meant the texture that you used on the beach airfield, where in a previous screenshot you see green fuzz balls in the texture. Barakoma was crushed coral, so it actually would have been a very bright white colour in real life.

As far as the forest you see, the original Slot maps were redone by TD, and I think a lot of forest areas were cleared. The "taxiways" that you see at Barakoma were supposed to be jungle roads, just as you see in the picture I posted.

I uploaded a new one as option on the previous page and will most likely try some texture variation on the islands tomorrow as well for the 01/44 version.

Thus I attached the Quick missions, I am a dedicated Quick mission flyer ( :P :-[ ) and chose one scenario where I wanted to go a bit deeper, like adding palms all over and changing the sight even more than on the others, which of course are also altered.
Sadly (or luckily) this great map by their authors comes with 6 different map_T files, for more variation. That also means each map has to be edited seperately or certain areas have to be copied and pasted into map_T.tga, which is also an option maybe.
Puh, as long as some guys value it, it is worth..the last time I spent 100 hours ++ on a map (casablanca), the feedback was rather modest, so I did not even upload my last improved version. :P

In this case I will not take it so serious, as IMHO the default maps for this important set should be the standard until someone comes up with something revolutionary, e.g. a completely new modelled way of modelling Pacific Flora in IL-2.

My 2 cents chaps.

That was precisely the issue Team Pacific had when these maps were created. The same issue was there when New Guinea/New Britain was made. Pacific maps are a challenge.
