Quite close to the final version. Nothing stops this guy. Climbing in the Urals:




Remember that to avoid damaging your own plane in an Ejection, there is the new option "Leave Plane" in the Menu, which allows an elegant and effective abandon of the plane.

Just a question because I have truoble with my new rig and I'm out of IL-2 for some time....and after I must finish my map consolidation project too....

To take control of another plane I must always leave my plane?

If is so , I must be on the ground or I can take control of other planes even when still in the inbound route?

I'm asking because I tested a mission where I have the control of the first wave and I time the start of the second wave when the first is on it's RTB route....just wondering if this is still possible....

The Visual MOD since a long time ago has the option "Control" in the game menú, which allowed for taking control of any plane without a walking pilot. This MOD adds another possibility.

I just tested this through FMB and man, I feel so fit!! I ran the entire length of the air base from one plane to another; and I didn't even break a sweat or spill a drop of my, uhhh, tea! I did this so I could see if I could control the other plane. It works great!

However, is there some way to make the guy disappear when you've placed yourself in another plane? It wouldn't matter too much I guess but I stopped a little close to the plane and when I started to roll I hit the poor fella, the game stopped, and gave me the old "IL-2 6Dof/TrackIR Enabled..... has stopped working" error.

I then tried hitting the plane with the guy and the same thing.

Is this how this is supposed to work or is my install at fault? I've got a modded up 4.12.2 SASModact 5.3

I could live this but can see being in combat, forgetting to stop, and getting kicked out of the game.

The above was using the mouse for viewing.

I got! I got it!! This works with TrackIR. You hit the plane with the guy and you're inside the cockpit and control the plane. Excellent. Now, what about folks who don't have TrackIR?

You have to activate the VisualMOD8 menu,
then there its in the far left dropdown menu.
