Now I have finally finished my campaign for the new Douglas A-26B "Invader", made by Docholiday and a host of other people:

This is a static 8-mission semi-historical campaign set during the Korean War in 1951. You are a USAAF pilot in a squadron flying the Douglas A-26B “Invader”. Although really a WW2 aircraft the seemingly antiquated A-26 would remain in heavy demand from the very start of the conflict until the truce was signed in 1953. The job the Invader units had to do was probably the most difficult any outfit, or aircraft type, had to perform in Korea, due to the fact that most Invader missions were flown at night and at very low level.

Despite the seemingly impenetrable nature of the rugged terrain that predominated in North Korea, A-26 crews regularly navigated down to tree-top level at night to fly through valleys at top speed in search of truck convoys and trains. They performed this hazardous mission night after night with great success, and their efforts were instrumental in halting the numerically superior Chinese Army from gaining any significant ground south of the 38th Parallel. When the war ended units equipped with the Invader had flown some 54.000 sorties, with some 42.000 taking place at night.

In this campaign most missions take place during night, and consists of hunting for enemy truck convoys or trains. The campaign makes extensive use of CY6’s excellent Command & Control Mod, which means that the weather, the opponents and their skill, the locations of enemy AA gun batteries and search-lights etc are randomized. So even if you replay a mission it will not be exactly the same. Sometimes you will encounter enemy aircraft, sometimes not.

More screenies:

This campaign has of course been built because we now have a real A-26 Invader in this glorious game. And it is in many ways a collective venture, the result of many modders pooling their time and talent. The guys behind this lovely aircraft are Docholiday, Birdman, Mac1, Red_Fox90, Vega, Birdman, Crazyflak, Storebror and Malone.

Thanks for looking!  :)
