Anyone know where these gray areas under the turret are mapped?

'Cause that's the pilot of the one I'm searching for. Guy got 5 distinguished flying crosses. Not sure this noseart's accurate, but:

No, an update. Turns out Starduster is a B-24J/H. They just couldn't use those on the non-CGI sequence because they were using Diamond Lil. Still no clue about the tail number, but it appears it is a "ghost plane" of sorts (No actual pictures). I'll try to find a less blurry scene in the movie. As to the frightful old pig, turns out that that nose thing isn't a mapping error, but rather a 3D error, as it is in fact glass covering metal. Any ideas on how to fix that? Either way, I'm back on the B-24s. I haven't been skinning in a while because I spent 3 hours Saturday morning to do Diamond Lil, only for my PC to crash just before I saved and that really angered me, as I even drew the squadron emblem instead of copying and pasting it. She'll probably be done as soon as I decide to try again.

I'm planning on making some skins portraying the 376th Bomb Group. I was doing some research on Operation Tidal Wave, and learned that most of the pilot were Brazilian (Like me), which explains some known planes from the group's names, like Jose Carioca (Which is a comic strip character here) and Tubarão (Shark in Portuguese). That also explains why the squadron was nicknamed "Liberandos" (A brazilization of the word Liberator).

Sometimes you may need to look into the main airplanes folder and open up to see the default skin.
Some aircraft share parts of its fuselage and details with the main skin which is the Default skin.

Other times the skins share parts of it which are inside the airplanes main folder in the numerous TGA (Targa) skins
which make up the airplane. As you may already have noticed, the skins that only deal with the interior details are
usually placed in their own separate folder inside the Cockpit folder. So some parts for the fuselage of the airplane may
be in the main folder too.
Its a matter of testing out the skins and seeing what happens when you change them.

It´s your mission, if you should choose to accept it.
As always,
should any member of your IMF Force be caught or killed, the secretary of defense will disavow all knowledge of your actions.

This tape will self-destruct in five seconds....

Good luck Mr. Maty12.  ;D

;D I accept the mission. Turns out those are actually 3D errors. It's not gray, it's glass.

I was talking about the J version. I can't really check the alpha channel, my version of PS doesn't notice that channel, only R, G and B. I have the same mods as you. Weird. I'll look into it.

So, I checked with every skin I had (I had only downloaded mine, so it, the default, the two Joly Rogers skins and the void) and they all show that are as a glass like gray, proving it is glass.

Nice. Last question: Where can I find the default for stock planes?

If you have the modded game, then they should all be "zipped up" in the special SFS files. It´s all in there.
In the search options above on this webpage, search for extracting SFS Files.
It should lead you to a page where you can download the latest SFS extractor program Gizmo
you need to install in your computer. Do not put in the game!  ;)
Its very easy to use.
