7z and Admin Rights
« on: August 21, 2014, 01:51:57 AM »

Morning Guy's
I found out yesterday that moving my IL-2 1946 folder to "C" drive that I could extract the zip files OK, But not into my programme files (x86) win 8 O/S  without admin rights, my question is,
Can you run 7z using admin rights, if so that would be my prob sorted, I can't find anyway to do it,

I'd recommend moving your game to C:\Games\ or something similar.

It's generally not recommended to install IL-2 into the program files folder because IL-2 writes to files at runtime, which it can't if it is in the program files folder.

You can run 7zip with admin rights like you do with any other program.
Right-Click on the executable or the link to the executable and select "run as adminstrator".
This will start 7zip with admin rights, then you can drag any 7z file into the 7zip window and extract it.

Best regards - Mike
