Anyone working on some skins

looks like skinning these might be quite a headache, mate -
looks like they use more than one tga/tgb file to load the skins - besides the regular skin1o.tga/tgb files, seems they also use some of the skin tga's inside the plane folder (skin11o/12o/13o/15o.tga, all or at least one of those)
this is the way it goes with some franken planes, so you aren't likely to see any regular skins for these in a hurry, unfortunately...
you can get some idea of the problem by using a MiG-21 skin on them, to see what i mean...
i want to work on some of these tga's, to get some different 'default' skins, but not sure when i'll be able to get around to it...

Cool work there but I'd like some things improoved:
let's start with easiest - weapons. 32-rocked pod wasn't mounted on the inner wing point - there was no space for it. So they had it on the outer point.

+ the version with six hardpoints was late version from 1969. Until then they were missing the outer points.

The missiles on Su-9 don't have arming option. My R-55's didn't lock at all. Plus, you should conscider having two beamers and two IR's combined.

To the pit. I see the MiG-21's one as the best choice (due to the instruments). But speaking of visibility... MiG-17's would fit better. Plus, Su-9 misses the radar.

And speaking of FM - it turns a bit too much... make it heavier a bit

Hello Steven, as Eugene has pointed out these little beasties would be a bit of a nightmare to skin, first of all the only template I can find is for the Mig-17, however, there are others that would be needed to skin this.

This is the nearest we have to a new skin, but it would need to be the new default as it consists of various bits and pieces:



Alex is busy at the moment so you will need to wait for him to post these files.


I also did the SSP but they have a rather peculiar stance, nose down, I seem to recall a similar issue with one of the Mig-21 packs:
