Actually the X-15 is not an airplane, it´s a rocket missile with a cockpit!
WARP Speed suicide machine!

Those guys were crazy to fly that thing, and also very courageous. Probably both.
It takes a crazy pilot to fly such ideas.

I hope one day we could get to fly it in the IL2 along side its earliest Luftwaffe version.
Before the X-15, the Luftwaffe in WW2 were already test flying such piloted rocket airplanes.

Interisting, but compared to the 20 years later produced X-15 rather a glider.

I wonder if these pilots come with a default add-on testicle.
