Wow, maybe I am getting a bit jaded from flight sims but that opening is more than a little bit cheesy. Everything cramed into one camera shot and no sense of space.

I don't know much about the Red Tails history but the pilots in the move come across as generic black movie characters instead of real people.  Small wonder Lucas Film got eaten by Disney after this.

I haven't seen this movie before.

But it seems something made for people that never had real contact with flying and made by people that doesn't know much about flying either. The fighters move as when a child has a toy plane at their hands and just freely move it without considering that planes movements are the result of a thrust which produces a lift and these is influenced (not magically changed) by the effect of the control surfaces.

This movie can be used as a great example of misconceptions in flight dynamics. I just saw 5 mins and got horrorized of what I have seen.

There are several much better movies that really illustrate realistically the fighters and bombers hard life.
