it was very against the whole season spirit of me to rant off like that yesterday, for which i now apologise, and will try to get on with sorting out the issue, and just getting it done without kicking up a stink, lol. a bit more zen to be practised for me :D
enjoy BoS meanwhile, i'll see you guys in the skies soon enough.  8)
Oh you think your ranting now...
Just wait until you see that you have to wage through the worst single campaign in the history of the franchise in order to use what you paid for. And then realize that Ivan will get the same game you get for $12.
Oh and multiplayer? Well if your in a remote place like the US, or anywhere outside the old world just go ahead and go pound sand.
But hey, it looks good right?
Is just s waste of time. DCS and CoD do all that this steaming pile do, and for the most part are better at it.
Honestly Malone it seems the devs desinged this game to initiate rants. Even a fanbois like 110G admits that we got screwed, just grin and bear it m-kay?
ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Nevermind.

There was a guy who made some pretty in-depth manuals for each plane in a .pdf format. I can't find them on the forum anymore though.

Yep, Chuck removed all his stuff from BOS forum.

http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/13403-chucks-aircraft-guide/

And as expected the thread got locked too. *Sigh*
To make it even worse: Before locking it down BOS moderator does not even mention his name but calls him "the subject".

They might have had their reasons.
Here are the guides: www.falcon-online.org/as/Documents/IL-2BOS.7x
Rename to "IL-2BOS.7z" and extract using 7zip.

Best regards - Mike

Good show! Glad I could still grab these. I should've saved them ages ago.

The Game's fault?
enough US based infrastructure available.
Sorry, no Jugs, Stangs or Seventeens on this one.

I like chuck, I know him from ATAG site, but as anyone else he is not able to leave without a little drama. But to be fair, he just left and made a point of him leaving, he did not return endless times to get others to leave too.
To tell you the truth, if our members had behaved the same here as they do in BOS site it would be a ban massacre .
I admit many bad decisions done by moderators , but in the heat they been thru, we would done the same. Dev team has not exactly made things easier

No, it's the devs fault for releasing a partilly finished product.

okay, this isn't a rant, in fact, just a tiny little observation i made on my first few flights.
bear in mind, so far i have only flown Soviet planes, so.... anyway, i took a few flights and tried not to focus on any one thing, but tried to just let it all sink in evenly and take in all the pretty things.
the first thing which stuck out for me, and this might be a bit silly, lol, but i thought that the reflection off the pilots' helmet (guess it's some leather or something, was just a tad too shiny - although this reflection of the light is really awesome all around generally, i found that the impression the shiny helmet gave me was that of a dude wearing a plastic helmet.
maybe it's just me, i dunno.
anyway, initially, visually, that's the only thing i might like to see changed - to lessen the shiny-ness of the pilot helmet.
err....this isn't a suggestions for improvement thread, is it.....arhh.....  :P

Yes my ping from pst is not conducive to joining anything in Europe. Even if it was I wouldn't join, at least until I am allowed to use what I paid for,  and not held to much the same standard as the damned ivan that paid all of a tenth of what I paid.
Why, on earth, would I want to be a party of a half finished game with soviet era type restrictions on in game freedom?
Oh and if you didn't notice Flatspinman gave up on the game tonight and walked away. Add him to the exodus. Great job in enabling the devs to run out the best of our community.

Ya I know, just not fond of the Russian "we have your money so piss off" business model comrade loft likes so much. Makes one bitter. I hate to hope for the failure of a venture but these guys don't deserve to succeed.
