IL2 and this site do rock and is the one surviving them all
Thanks for the flowers Otto.
I hope you will recover to blooming health again.
Thanks for the heads up regarding Robtek as well.
I must admit I wasn't aware of his background, as I'm not into any of the CloD stuff and/or the progress at ATAG.
While I own CloD, I've flown less than 20 hours on it, never really got into it for I never got the feeling that anything in there is better or even "right" compared to IL-2.
Not my cup of tea, so to say.
As far as BoS goes, arguably one could say that what we're complaining about now could have been seen in advance as the same happened with RoF before.
But I beg to differ.
RoF at least got a mod-enabled mode, BoS will not. For RoF reasons. That's arrogant and ignorant.
Taking any of RoFs history accounts for argument for or against anything BoS related has to be plain wrong.
It's like comparing apples to oranges.
RoF never had any serious modding community, the IL-2 sequel has one for decades already.
Trying to ignore such facts is a mistake many companies made in the past and it
always results in the complete breakdown of business.
When you successfully sold fish in Japan it tells nothing about how to sell steaks in the U.S.
You can try to do it the same way but you will fail, for arrogance and ignorance.
Circle closed.
So why should we bother about this at all?
Because BoS can easily be the last chance for the IL-2 sequel to be carried on.
What company should burn it's fingers in future when a presumably successful one (777) in that genre failed already?
That's why it's worth to argue about, that's why we care:
An epic fail of BoS will likely mean that this is the end of the genre.
And after all we don't want it to end, that's why we're here.
Growing age or not, children or not.
Fresh blood spills in regularly, don't worry about that.
Fresh software might not, depending on BoS's fate.
Best regards - Mike
