The idea behind the 110 on its early start was not really BOB. When the Generals of Luftwaffe praised the design of the 110 it was early to mid 1930´s .
It´s poor performance with opponents in BOB campaign and a little later Barbarossa was imply because it in BOB was up against the best design ever  and in Russia in mid to low altitude fighting.
In 1943, this was about to end, they where used against the hauling armada of B-17 until the mustang arrived over France and Germany. Day and night, and only night

agree! same with the stuka.
in BoB, the Stukas got such a bad an asskicking one day, and the OKL was so shocked they pulled the thing out of Operations.
The leaders were actually understanding "oh! this is a bad idea...!!" ??? ???

The USAAF actually lost more men in the skies over Europe than US marines in all theaters of war :(
