Parts of my AOI Skinpack contain my earlier SAAF Ju52s, in literature and dedicated websites I found more traces.
Basicly the allover green was the colour in the early phase of their service, from the beginning of war until the
italian defeat in Etiopia. Yolasite and literature shows enough examples of the greens. 26, 660, 661, 664,
After the East-African campaign the Ju52s where repainted in a two-tone desert scheme, one example white
A with black SAAF Serial B4080 exists in at least 2 photographs, picture caption stated in flight over Khartoum/Sudan-1942.
SAAF website shows one older pre-war style Ju52 and another in the two tone scheme, both serials unknown.
Basicly easy to trace the timeline and paintscheme on wartime pictures:
2 up to 3 digit Black SAAF Serial = Greens pre 1941
White capital lettering + Black SAAF Serials = Desert scheme post 1941
That captured example by SAAF shows traces of LW (Stammkennzeichen etc.) markings, as I remember the picture, and completely
different paintscheme. But there is a remarkable difference in the real SAAF Ju52s and the captured examples,
as the SAAF ex-Airliners where of different modifications and visibly older models of the Tante ju.
Kind Regards
