Today I flew for the first time on this beautiful map. I have spent the last year studying the subject of map creation, and working on some projects based on your manual and Kevinp's manual, and I can now appreciate the enormous amount of work that goes into creating a map of this nature. I have made a short video of this first flight. Thank you very much for sharing your work.

Hi Seppel, you can of course use the video if you want. And regarding the 2024 version of your map builders handbook, yes, I have read it several times and learned a lot, it is one of my three main sources of reference; the other two are kevinp's handbook, and the map builders forum in this very house, with its vast volume of knowledge. I have numerous teachers here, you are one of them.

The Caribbean is a very neglected area, but one that would offer a lot of possibilities for all kinds of historical missions.

Is there enough open water on that map to get ships out and over the horizon distance? A thing that is often not taken into consideration

The map of Jamaica deserves the bottle of Appleton's product for the creator. But his post was 10 years ago?

Ooh ... I am afraid I had taken my mouth too full (to translate a German word).

The Jamaica map is not very good from todays viewpoint.
As I said -10 years ago :-) - it was my trainig map for map building.
It is non historical, not very accurate and not very handsome.

How do you come on it now?? :-D
