This is the 2nd skin I have made, but like the first one of KLM DC-3 PH-ASK, probably not much use in the game scenarios, but it is another step in becoming proficient in the art of skinning.
It is 'factory fresh' as delivered to No.114 Squadron RAF in March 1937 with only minor dirt and oil marks. You will note the big, bright roundels and squadron number instead of code letters which came later. Also the civilian style large registration numbers painted on the under-surfaces. The under-surfaces themselves are black, not the split black and white later adopted to aid army ground observers, later to be abandoned also.
I intend to 'update' this skin to the 1938 version along with the wear and tear suffered during K7045's service between 1937 and 1939. It may then be of some little use but will mainly let me practice the subtle art of 'aging' a skin.
I shall shortly be posting it on the Simmers Paint Shop website for down loading, and updating this post with a link when it is approved.
My next project will I hope prove more useful, it is for a Junkers Ju52/3mg4e as used by Stab IV/KGzbv 1, Crete 1941 (serving also in the Balkans campaign).
post tidied up, see below
