LaGG cockpits
« on: December 03, 2014, 03:00:20 PM »

An updated cockpit for the LaGG planes would be awesome. Something like the new ones for the MiG-3s and German fighters. I have to say that in all of the beautiful scenery on the new Stalingrad maps, the old LaGG cockpit looks really outdated lol.

Mangas did high quality retextures for the LaGG's, together with many other russian planes, they're in UP3/DBW.

I did a search for it but all I came up with was La-5/7 cockpits. Could I get the files out of UP3 and use them in 4.12?

It says that it is an invalid or deleted file?

Is there a way for me to mod the cockpits on my own? I was thinking about trying to do something like what PA Jeronimo does with straightening out some of the kinks in the canopy frames and making them look more 3d.

of course you can mod it yourself. all you need is to open the mod folder/and you can edit the tga files in a picture editor, like Photoshop. 3d files/msh files with 3dMax, or other 3d software
any other tools you might need for this process should be available in the Tech Help: Making Mods section, and its child boards. let's see some of your work! :D

I'll second that. I'm sure PA Jeronimo would be glad of the help. Bringing the cockpits up to date would really be a tremendous update to the game-you can't help but see your cockpit!

I want to be able to contribute something useful for everyone. I won't be able to get started yet though. I just started my first day of trucking school to get my cdl and I will be in a hotel for almost a month.
