what's the soundmod (appears when shrapnels impact the plane) in the vid?
Yeah, if only I knew. I didn't like the shrapnel impact sound much (overdone to me), so I deleted that mod some time ago.
It might have been the 4.12.x Soundpack- New Improved Sounds from 69th FG mod.
You'll have to check yourself.

woohoo, I got it working! Honestly, I'm still not sure what I did except I started with a recent back-up of a 4.12.2 game and made sure I had the flak fx folder at the top as stated. Whatever I did, its working great and if you build a quick night bomber mission in FMB with...say..100 guns around a city, your  cockpit and all interior/gunner positions will light up like a disco.

Im using Ice Fire's FX compilation as well and combined it's a helluva ride.

Yikes! I don't know what I did wrong but suddenly my game has gone a bit haywire. With the flash effects on, bombs aren't exploding on impact (any size) and rockets freeze the game. Log below. Thanks for any help. I probably moved something around or deleted something because I can be an idiot from time to time.

The whole Bomb and Rocket classes are not stock anymore.
You likely have some big effects mod installed on top, H&G Plutonium or the like.

Yah just checked it on the night Stuka track.

Mike's mod above engine mod and my effects: freezes when bombs explodes.
Mike's mod under engine mod but before my effects: freezes when first flak explodes.
Mike's mod under engine mod and my effects: no freezes, but no flak flashes.

Will investigate further.

Some of you may have already noticed:
If you run this mod together with the Engine Mod and try to destroy another plane with a missile, the game will crash as soon as the missile explodes

Here is a Engine Mod v2.7 compatible Version of the Flak Burst Flash Mod!
Just make sure it is loaded before the Engine Mod!
