The Solomons marauders campaign
« on: December 25, 2014, 06:11:50 PM »

I have downloaded it, after unzipping (or RARing) into a temp folder, I copied it into my campaign/US folder, and it won't work.  It shows up in the aforementioned folder, but when I go to load a new campaign, it isn't even listed as a choice under USAAF.  What have I done wrong?  I have a good working TFM-412 with all the mods enabled through the latest.  I think that the B-26B mods are part of them, so I haven't tried to install anything else. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Which Solomons Marauder campaign?

Do you have a link so that others could test and see if they can get it to work?

This?

If you have not yet, reinstall the campaign.
When you copied it did you open the zip far enough?
The first one reads SolomonsMaraudersBundle and the second reads SolomonsMarauders
SolomonsMarauders is what needs to show in your campaign/US folder.

Bob, if that is not the problem I have no idea what's wrong, mine works.

Check that the campaign folders are DIRECTLY inside and under the proper country folder (US, UN, DE, GB, etc) and that the said campaign folders are the proper ones, i.e. contains all the files needed for a campaign: .mis., .properties, .info etc. Sometimes unpacking will give you one more level of folders, and then the game won't find the proper ones.

Let me give you an example.  Right now, my Solomons marauders folder is in my game/missions/campaign/US folder.  It contains Campaign, Info folders as well as Mis and Properties folders Marauders 01 thru 13.  But now let me tell you something strange I just noticed.  In my GB campaigns folder I have a couple of those coastal command things, but when I go into the game and try to start a new campaign for RAF, neither one of them is there either.  Back about two weeks ago my game "bit the dust" but I had it backed up and I was good to go.  I'm wondering if it was something to do with that.  And additionally, if I try to find those campaigns in FMB they aren't there either.  But, again, they are in the proper folders when I look using explorer in my Win 8.1 install.  Pretty strange, don't you agree?  Let me know what you think.  Thanks.

Theres probably an extra folder inside US. Must be like this:

..\Missions\Campaign\US\SolomonsMarauders\Marauders01.mis

I tested it in modact 5.3 (basis of TFM-412) and it loads and works fine.

I come to you guys this A.M. with "hat in hand" to apologize.  I know that most of the questions I post are pretty trivial (and pretty embarrassing) to you who are much smarter than me, but you always, always take the time to answer and to try to help me. For this, I am really grateful.  Well, this time is no exception.  It seems as though I put the IL2 selector on my taskbar that doesn't apply to the game that I have been continually trying to mod, e.g. with the aforementioned campaign.  I had two game files on the HD and I got confused and had it set up all wrong. Now that I know where I messed up, maybe I can correct it.  I guess y'all get pretty tired of me blaming my age for my shortcomings, but in addition, I am now on some pretty strong cancer medications, and it has me more screwed up than my "normal".  Anyway, I am trying anyhow to get it right, and as usual I really appreciate your patience and you help and efforts.

Bob,
It is never a problem trying to help

I have added things to the wrong IL2 setup before so you are not the first.

I think we are going to get a new addon setup for 4.12.2 soon so we can start over but it is supposed to be orders of magnitude easier to do.
