Yes, Vega, maybe you can make the F/A-18 a bit easier to land, so that she doesn't nose down when you increase throttle on approach and doesn't nose up when you chop power, on approach. Any help appreciated.

It need a cut in elevators effectiveness, and have too much acceleration compared to effective thrust, for sure have a too big compressor manifold value

But remember that at empty it should have positive thrust/weigh ratio.

I have to agree: very mushy controls at landing speed and ballooning up 30 degrees with the slightest stick input when trying to touch down, even with fuel dumped to a minimum. It's can be a rather unpleasant experience at times..  8)

EDIT: I will add, that after an evening of practicing takeoffs and landings I feel a lot more comfortable with the F18, with almost a 100% success rate doing touch and gos. The only real problem I still see is using flaps on landing with the gear down: there is a tendency to suddenly flick into a violent roll when well above stall speed, but I haven't recreated that situation enough times to see a pattern or what might be the cause.

There are a few other issues with the F-18 I will elaborate on later - mainly my log getting flooded with RWR messages when flying against missile armed AI, and also an alpha channel issue with the AV-8 when viewing externally..

Having troubles with the 3d, I am 99% sure I have installed HD mod correctly, all the High Res and True Colour folders are in jsgmemods and these are installed in JSGME:
High Resolution Texture DLLs
True Colour textures for SAS Modact
True Colour HD skins
High Res true colour sample custom skins

Did I miss one of the mods to activate in JSGME?

Hello there, I have a little issue since I downloaded the F/A-18: when I take the F/A-18, I have a big FPS drop on ground (12-13 FPS instead of 45 in flight) and this ONLY happens with F/A-18 on ground, not in flight. I figured out that the issue was fixed by desactivating "Landscape lighting" (I'm in French version of the game, so I don't know if it's the right term in English). It doesn't seem to be a problem from my config because I tested it on my other PC (which is less powerful) and I have exactly the same issue.

So, I'd like to know if someone already had this issue before and how to solve it. here's my config if it can be helpful:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64 bits
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3,0 GHz
GPU : nVidia GeForce GT630 1 GB GDDR5
RAM : 4 GB DDR2 @ 800 MHz

  • Landing just means stop flying, right?

I'm having a similar problem to spitfire, and it persists even after I disabled the mod.

Yeah, it works but I'd like to have a fluid game without disabling shadows. Would it be possible?
