The game plays as it did before downloading the mods.  However, the f18, harrier and f16s are no where to be found, but are listed in the aircraft section.  Any advise would be great at this point, I've been going over this for the past 8 hours.

Infinity, I just restored and viewed the reworked variants of your post #357:

no wonder, your (2nd ?) jsgme folder is in the wrong directory.
It has to stay in the root directory of any Il-2 game!

Just a guess: do you  have 2 jsgme folders?
One in the root directory but empty and this other one
in your #SAS folder but with some mods?

This will not work.
jsgme.exe will not find the mods in the #SAS jsgme folder.
It will show just what it finds in the jsgme folder in the root.
And there seems to be nothing to show and load.

Repair this please and move the mods from wrong jsgme folder
to the right one in the root, then delete this #SAS jsgme thing..

I did write that, but then I tired it with an updated version of the jsgme application, I was then able to activate the jsgmemods, which is why I modified that post.  I have since moved the jsgmemod folder to the IL2 main folder (out of the SAS folder) and kept the truecolor, and still nothing.

I may need to just start all over, but before I do that, shouldn't there be added entries to the stationary, technique, and weapon folders for the f18 and av8?  All I added was the plane and air files per the directions and couldn't find any other readme files to copy and paste to those other folders, so they have no f18 or av8 information.  I guess, this is my main confusion.

afaik: no.  ;)

weapons entries simply isn't available until someone makes it,
but that doesn't matter as its "cosmetic entries" only.
And technics and stationary.ini entries you need when you dl
and install the stationary pack by MissionBug from here
but not with this pack.

Despite my attempts, I think I'm getting lost on the true color mod.  Still don't know if I'm doing that one correctly and I haven't seen a way to check if I'm doing it right so my actions remain in the blind.  I don't want to post a useless reply, but I know my previous error code wasn't much help and when I load the av8 or f18, all I can see is upside down terrain with a tree trunk.  All other aircraft load fine.  Am I on the right track of it being a HD mod issue or could this point somewhere else?  I'm just trying to deduce further mistakes.  I appreciate any help.

I've been going at it still.  Here's an update for a few items.
1.  Game loads, but only terrain or upside down outside view is seen - Check your true color mod and jsgme application
2.  Game crashes at 20% - this could be several things, but if you are just trying to add this pack, check your !SAS_Engine_Mod
3.  This is where I am at this point.  Game runs fine, but f18, av8 load to "null" (also weapon loadout on f18s are blank) - Almost positive this has to do with westerns mod installation. Still troubleshooting. 
4.  Log file?  How about a screen shot or list of minimum mods in the mod folder (\#SAS) from someone who has a working game.  The list on the F16 thread reply #26 is great, but the !SAS_Engine_Mod isn't listed at all so this is very confusing for me as I've discovered my game won't start without it.

Thank you SAS~s3 for the Engine mod separate folder information.  All flaps are now working perfectly.  I like  to read posts which lead to problem solutions.

I'm sure you all are getting annoyed with my posts.  I'm with ya.  However, I found something out today which may of be some use for someone else...

All this time, I've been testing my game in Quick Mission Build.  No luck.  Today, I loaded in multiplayer and BOOM!  There was the AV8 and F18.  Tried it in Quick Mission build again, no luck, but after I restarted the game, it seems to function normally.  Kudos to all.
