is at 110% power, so i assume with AB

in my opinion you had to reduce not only top speed, but also acceleration over mach 1

maybe top speed is too hight because you model FM with previous patch of engine mod, that have more drag

Hi, I can not set my F-18 flaps manually at take off and always end up in the drink when hand off stick, full power etc. - Is this due to the Auto FCS or is there something I'm overlooking in my take off procedure? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If all the required components are installed correctly,
in F/A-18 taking-off....
1. start engines ... wait
2. set flap HALF ("Flap: HALF" is shown in game HUD text).
Then, in external view, flaps are down in 28 degrees.
3. increasing throttle to 100%.
F/A-18 will take-off automatically, no need to pull the JoyStick.
4. Gear Up
5. In increasing the flight speed, flaps are made up smoothy and automatically without players control.
6. When the flight speed is over 250knot, flaps are completely up, set Flap Switch to AUTO (push Up key once).

Thanks western, I'm all good except when I hit my "Flaps Down" key one time they don't move to 28 degrees like it used to, it says in the HUD it's at 28 but in external view they stay up, then I go in the drink at take off.  Is there another key I need to bind for "Flaps: Half"? It's weird. Everything was working in the initial version, and I followed the new instructions.

"it says in the HUD it's at 28" --- this is strange.
If all the components are installed and working well, in this time HUD shows "Flaps: HALF" instead of "Flaps: 28.0 deg".
No new key binds are needed, same as stock "Flap Up" key / "Flap Down" key.

Some components may be old or version mismatching.
Download all of them "Latest" version again from 1st post of this topic, and install them correctly, not to remain old files in your folder.

Does anyone have this problem or its specific to my install?

With Harrier MISC key 5 (toggle left HDD fuel, fuel flow and engine screen)
works OK, but not in F-18 anymore (since V2.0).

Or is there a trick I do not know?

get this log:

Do you install version2.0's latest !!!!_US_Marine_Aviation_Pack correctly?
and erase old version1.8's folder?

Could not having the Engine mod load first be a contributing factor to any of the above errors?

Just wondering...

Per all the above - got it working.  True - both planes seem a tad peppier than before - particularly the hornet.  Also got a strange graphic anomaly. Took a hit in the harrier - still flying fine but the entire nose section was graphically gone.  Just the pilot sitting there - and the canopy. Didn't get a screen shot - will if it happens again.

Beautiful job on these!

Do you install version2.0's latest

Yes. Also have your lastest EngMod 14-1-15
(btw: many many thanks for this!  ;))

BUT: just found this:

the error only appears when I select in arming menu:
F-18(C and D): default.
but when I select any wapons on F-18s Misc5 Key works OK...
btw: Harriers selection default Misc5 Key works OK! ?

Checked for double classfiles: there are none in my 412 Jetwar Test envirom.
Also checked for loading order: doesn't play a role.
And in Manual 2.0 I found nothing mentioning this.

Anyway: with this I can live.  :)

Your new information helps us much!
I can generate the same error by the way you show.
I'll check it in Java side.

I fixed the F/A-18 cockpit bug Gerax reported in my side.

I sent the new source file to S3, when he will apply my change and finish checking new behavier, then he will release new Java pack here.

Thanks Gerax.

I experience the same glitch (game freezing when I press Misc key 5 with F/A-18 but not Harrier) and I though it was because my computer isn't enough powerful to handle the very compelx F/A-18, but I've just tried with Default loadout, it freezes and with an other loadout, it doesn't freeze anymore. Hope your patch will fix this  ;)
