I experience the same glitch (game freezing when I press Misc key 5 with F/A-18 but not Harrier)

when you hit the misc5 key threetimes then the freeze disappears.  ;)

I was doing various tests to obtain a good compromise for graphic Il2Sturmovik, when I ran into a problem, when it is presented must be sincere, has put a strain on my patience. :)
So hacking with conf.ini entering into it and going to work in this area [Render_OpenGL]
by changing a few things I found out that the planes (F / A-18C / D, AV-8B +) v2.0
when modifying the "TexMipFilter" and shifting its value from 2 to 3 in comes into action the Enigma machine and I do not understand anything.
In practice, if I set the value TexMipFilter=2
I see and I can work on the aircraft while changing TexMipFilter=3 aircraft disappear from my game.
why why can not I set the damn TexMipFilter=3 and run around with quiet (F / A-18C / D, AV-8B +) :(
I enclose Sreen

Hi, Stefano.

How about other aircrafts having 2048 size default texture like Ranwers' Su-25 and Tu-95?

If Su-25 and Tu-95 also has the same problem on your new trials, the reason is not F/A-18 and AV-8B+. That is HD / True Color MOD.

If you have by chance the A4 mod. Please remove their AInoopencanopy folder.

No - 1/13 & 1/12 - I downloaded it yesterday from the link on page 1.

Please calculate Time difference on the Earth.
GMT is London / UK , middle or west in France.
If you live in Americas, minus 5 - 8 hours (usually called -0500 or -0800).
So, they maybe the latest.

OK :)

Please read the Readme / Release topic notices of HD / True Color MOD.
ver1.1 - https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,42744.0.html
ver1.0 - https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,33239.0.html

I'm not so good at HD MOD usage, but it seems some limitations or features in conf.ini 3D graphic settings to use that MOD.
Someone might reffer those issues there.

Hi western.

I've had the flap bug that others have listed before, and have not only the F-18/Av-8 mod downloaded to recent version (including S3's new Java pack) but your most recent engine mod patch (from last link in Engine Mod 2.7 thread) in a sort of "stand by" in the archives I downloaded them in.

What confuses me is that according to you, the newest files should have January 13 and 14 datestamps, but the most recent files in the mod are from Jan. 6. I have even re-downloaded to be sure. And despite the fact that I live in the Midwest USA and my computer's internal clock is fast by an hour, I don't think the time difference should be that extreme.

The name of the archive that I extracted the patch from is "SAS_Engine_2.7_patch_western_20150114," if that helps any.

The oddest thing is that despite no flaps, I have had little to no difficulty landing or taking off (from ground strips. I don't have angled deck carriers yet), and the same goes for the AV-8.

However, I would like the mod to work as they say it should work

The last time I downloaded the Marine Aviation pack (plus original java pack) was the 14th, with the new java pack dl'ed on the 16th, ditto for the Engine mod patch.

I have the SAS Common Utils 1.07 mod, I have the 2.7 Engine mod patched with the most recent Engine mod patch I can find, Jetwar 1.33, the HD True Colors mod, and, of course, 4.12.2 with Modact 5.30.

I hope this can help.
