I've said it before and I'll say it again, the amount of work and level of detail put into this mod blows my mind, and I am hugely enjoying it. For a long time, people were saying that modern aircraft would be impossible in IL-2. I remember back when we had not a single supersonic fighter in IL-2, and the F-86 and MiG 15 were still causing a big stir. I am amazed at how a few skilled people have helped this game grow. Thanks to all who participated in creating this mod.

I am having an odd problem that I have never seen discussed before.  It has to do with key bindings to the Increase/Decrease Wing Incident, the nozzle controls for the Harrier.  However controlling the nozzle angle is wanky/undependable for me.  When I decrease the wing incident, it steps down for each key press....(25 degrees, 45, 60, 90) just fine, but when I increase the wing incident... I expect a similar response (60 degrees, 45, 25, 0) however, what happens is that very often I go from 90 degrees down, to 0 degrees down in one key press, which, as we all know, the Harrier does not like  ;D.  At other times, it will follow the behavior that I expect.  My control keys seem overly sensitive.  I have tried various combinations of key bindings/joystick buttons and the results have been the same.

Is this something I can adjust somehow in game or ini files?  I started to suspect my keyboard (a hardware problem), but when I switched the controls to the joystick and had the same result, I discarded that idea.  Since this is a beta, is this something that can/is controlled in FM or other internal settings and perhaps a future update will correct this behavior.  This makes me sad.

It doesn't happen to me like that. Usually it goes gradually back and fort, so you can control the vector during take off and landing. Can someones confirm?

Happy to confirm Eric.  Thank you again for making one of my favourite ever aircraft.

Very smooth here in CUP.  All 6 Vectored Thrust Nozzle Positions transit smoothly, step by step back, and forth.  I have it on HOTAS on my Thrustmaster.  No jumps at all.

I have both F18 and Harrier in my CUP installation... everything works fine except for the AI behavior: they avoid combat against fighters... they only fight against bombers. Could anyone help?

I seem to be getting an odd elevator trim on the AV-8B it's also very heavy trying to push the nose down

I check the trim and it's set to neutral SAS 4.12.2 Modact 5.3 I did install the Western Engine mod and SAS engine mod loading second to cure the missing flap actuation on the F-18

I only noticed it after a few flights, the second screenshot shows the elevator position having manually levelled with the horizon on the HUD.

If I take hands off the stick it naturally pitches nose down.

Any ideas?

See here in level flight

For those who think the Hornet is having realistic roll rates or anything, check this old video at ca. 16.00.

Roll rate around 1 second per 360.
I say IL-2 shall stick to 1914 to ca. 1955 and done. :D
Never seen a realistic Mach two capable jet here in our forum, no matter which modder or SAS team mate made it.

hi Gang :)

my apologies if i've missed the answer to this (i DID read through all 31 pages) - but the AV-8B harrier's thrust nozzles WONT vector ..either way? :(
changing the wing/sweep incidence buttons shows onscreen...but NO thrust vectoring?

Have tried from ground start, and from air to attempt to land..no joy :(

i DO have latest version....latest java pack...western engine mod patch...mod weapons - all up to latest versions.
EVERY other function/graphic/weapon/HD skin work just fine (and what an AMAZING mod you folks have created once again !!!)...but no vector thrust working for me :(

any ideas or suggestions?

thanks a bunch,

auto
