Tank Burms ( or Dug in Tanks , Tank Cupolas)
« on: January 01, 2015, 07:32:35 AM »

If this is not detailed enough for a true request , please move to the lounge.

As an artillery object , a series of Tank Burms.
These were used in several instances in WW2 by a few nations.
Some were make work projects for obsolete tank type turrets , some were purpose built with factory fresh turrets being constructed on a below the ground concrete position , and the most common instance was dug in tanks leaving only the turret exposed.

Much of the Maginot line was defended by this type of installation.

Dug in tanks were often used in the western desert

Russians used them as well

Not to forget  the German

Anyway you get the idea.

Hope this interests someone.

If anyone is interested in picking up the ball who knows more about numbers and types I am all for it.

Cheers ,
