"Just a plug for a really great book about the spitfire defense of Darwin in 1943. Anthony Cooper's Darwin Spitfires: The Real Battle for Australia is perhaps the best book about air fighting I have ever read. It is easy to read and to create missions from, but it is also meticulously researched. I think everyone who plays Il-2 will love it.
That brings me to the only problem with the book: the single JAAF raid on Darwin used Ki-48's at low-level and Ki-49's at high altitude. I would love to have those planes in the game. Not being a modder, I have no illusions about my limited rights to make this request, but if the Kawasaki Ki-48 Lily and the Nakajima Ki-49 Helen could be included I would be very happy indeed.
If you don't believe me, get a kindle version of Cooper's book and you will have a wonderful experience both in your imagination as a reader then on the computer as a participant via the miracle of Il-2!"
