Thanks Pete, I really appreciate your efforts. Plus you solved one of my main problems, namely what causes the Be.2c to be nearly indestructible.

The purpose of my criticism was also know a little better the issues with the class, I want to use in the selection of slot I have directed that the U2V convinced that it was more convenient to add new class in the control lines (replicating and adapting existing ones) , but I have no knowledge of the field, the FM TB3 believe used as a basis for the Caproni CA30 / 33, which seems to have the same problem a very difficult climb rate, the possible adaptation of the cockpit is possible even if my cockpits are pretty mediocre.
Maybe watching as an example of the slot Caproni and its class files the problem of the turrets can be solved?

Hello Gio I see what you mean as far as the U2V classes go but I used the classfile I did because it was already made for a twin engined bomber. ;)

As far as the performance goes please try this new FM:

Link removed as the complete aircraft is available with any previous fixes  ;)

I have made some alterations to the aircraft empty and loaded weight as well as reducing the fuel load and it now behave much better I think. :o

To be honest I am not sure whether the entries made should be in Kilogrammes or pounds, I tried Kg first but when the AI aircraft tried to land it touched and then climed vertical to a height before the engines cut and it fell to the ground. ???

Once I tried the second lot entries all was well, maybe the sim was having a mad moment when I first did the change. :D

Glad you like it so far Istvan. 8)

It is possible that the FM for the Be.2C may need some changes to the toughness, sorry not sure, I am still experimenting with the AEG and it seemed to do the trick although the engines do not appear to recieve damage and will not smoke.  The aircraft just goes boom. ???

I read somewhere that the problem with the turret still firing with the gunner dead is attributable to how the gunner is assigned to a turret, however, I changed the entries in the heir but the problem was just moved to the other turret.

Take care all.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

It would be great if someone could crack this problem as it happens to several DBW1916 a/c. Also that strange ability Voisin & Farman gunners have of being able to shoot through the pilot & engine block and hit a/c behind and below them  :D

Cheers

I tried (with my limited skills as a tester) the new FM and for me that's great, I can look for the turrets if it is a problem of placement of Hooks.

I think the problem of voisin and  farman is connected to degree rotation and elevation included in the original class, I do not know if you can change them.

greetings Gio.

Hello Alfie, the AEG in its current form also has the issue of the gunners shooting through the plane, sorry no idea why that is. :(

Hello Gio, I am glad that has improved things for you although we are still not quite there yet. ;)

I have tried a new approach and used the java from another sim aircraft, the Stranraer by Matt (mikoyan99) along with his turrets and
so far things are looking promising, I hope he does not mind me messing with his work.

The reason for the trial is that it is a large biplane with fore and aft turrets and with the seaplane title removed it does appear to fly ok. :o

I have had to change the weapons option to suit the AEG and do a little messing with the hier, namely copying his entries into the AEG hier
file and doing some adjustment. :D

From what I can see the turrets only rotate within certain boundaries and do not shoot through the aircraft, tests continue.

Just need to add gunners and see what happens when one is shot. :P

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hello guys, finally I think I am getting close to finishing this. :o

Now using one of Stalker's skins as the default:

Each crew position is now working, however the guns are still the Vickers from the Stranraer and I need to remove unwanted
items from the cockpit and the views are not perfect:

The turrets now fire independantly at targets in their view and do not appear to shoot through the aircraft:

Pilots from the TB-3 with working dead model:

Still having issues with the fuselage bouncing around:

A solution for the the dead gunners shooting still alludes me, I have searched all over for a solution but found nothing. :(

If anyone knows a cure could they please post it, if not in the thread then a PM to me would be very welcome. ;)

Still to do:

Finish removing items from cockpit.

Change the Vickers guns to Spandau.

Cure the dead gunners firing.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Finally getting near to the finish. :D

Spandaus have now replaced the Vickers but there are some issues with lining things up. :(

Front turret:

Rear turret:

Some of the instruments have also been removed from the TB-3 cockpit to give it more a look of the single pilot of the AEG:

I have not been able to find a fix for the turrets continuing to fire when the gunner is dead, I tried various bits of java from other
aircraft with similar gunner set ups alas it is still ever elusive so it looks like it will remain a issue.

Things to do:

Tidy up my messing.

PM Matt to see if he has any objections to me using parts of his Stranraer.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

I got this working in DBW1916 yesterday. Eight of them bombed a Russian airfield, and flamed one of three attacking Nieuport 11s. I watched from an escorting Roland C II. No AEGs were lost. Keep up the good work guys.

Hello guys, I have now gone as far as I feel I can with this aircraft so am posting you the link to the model that is now flying in
my install. ;)

Link removed 2nd July 2015 as update released here:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46785.msg522009.html#msg522009

Credits:

original model by: gio963tto

PuW bombs by: Dreamk.

Slot by: Mission_bug from a original by mikoyan99 from the Suparmarine Stranraer (Permission was granted by the author to use his work).

Default skin: Stalker.

3D help for cockpit: Bison_M.

Elements of the mod: 1C Maddox Games from within IL-2 Sturmovik 1946.

With some help from Bison_M here is how the cockpit now looks:

I have tried to make it look like what it should for single pilot operation, sorry some of the views are not very good and things dissapear,
please try not to look up. :D

I did a version of the cockpit box with the apertures for entry to front and rear turret cut out, unfortunately with the existing TB-3 parts
still in place it did not quite look right so you will have to pretend there are doors there.

Problems outlined in previous posts regarding alignment of certain things and issues concerning damage and dead gunners have not
been successfully resolved so remain.

Hopefully there is someone out there who could take what I have done and make changes that really do justice to Gio's work.

I will not be doing any further work with this now, any improvements will need to be done by others. ;)

Thank you very much to all who have encouraged and helped with this project, your contributions are gretly appreciated. 8)

Take care guys.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thank you very much to Gio for his update, it is greatly appreciated.
