Hello Stainless, have you ever considered about patreon?  If you set up patreon, we can be more than happy to join and donate for tools and simulation development.

Your progress have been looking great, especailly with unreal engine.  A big respect to you for never giving up.

Cheers

The destruction video with moving parts looks good.

I know it's early days, but will users be able to link secondary destruction effects to the main destruction effect? I.e., not just a fireball and destroyed object animation, but also things like shrapnel, lingering smoke and fire effects, and craters in the ground?

The particle system is a asset created with a tool built into UE4

It is infinitely extendable, the only limit is the computer you are running the game on.

The effect is a collection of particle systems.

Each particle can use textures as done in IL2, or a mesh. So you can throw shrapnel around and have it bounce off the world around it

And each particle can have it's own shader, so you can use all the tools in UE4 to create something pretty.

Some big news this week.

As part of my day job, the chance came up to pitch this game to publishers, big publishers. The sort of people who can throw me a few million to get it off the ground.

And they are interested.

Will see what happens.

Let's hope for the best, good luck Stainless!  ]thumbsup[

Well this week has been very strange.

My initial pitch for funding started well, then went weird.

They really want to do the game, but they don't want a historical game.

They want hamsters.

Hamsters.

The rest of the guys in the team are really keen on it, and while the concept art is excellent, I am a bit lost.

On one side having a million quid to do a flying game would be nice, and it would allow me to have all the help I need to get the hard parts done, it's not the game I want to make.

The concept art is brilliant, I would love to show you it, but of course it is all top secret. Having a hamster that looks like it is about to rip your heart out is quite a feat.

So I think if this goes ahead , it will just be a stepping stone to the real game.

If sounds like some marketing genius is trying to rip off Kerbal Space Simulator, possibly to make an aerospace sim more appealing to kids, seemingly less violent, or perhaps more marketable in repressive parts of the world.

It sounds like a potential train wreck, but I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

If hamsters is what it takes to get the game finished then so be it. If anyone can make the concept work, it's Stainless.

Just make it easy as hell to mod the game so that we can swap in actual human pilots, real-world physics, accurate damage effects, and historically accurate equipment and scenarios.
