Awesome stuff!

Will HSFX 7 be included in the install (!)? Making us seamlessly switch betweem multi/single player configs?:)

Out of the box, the IL-2 Selector will allow the following configurations:
* Stock 4.12m
* SAS ModAct 5.3
* DOF (CUP module 2 - WW1)
* WAW (CUP module 3 - WW2)
* JTW (CUP module 4 - Modern)

Although HSFX is one of the menu choices, it does not work, so in so many words, HSFX is not included in the installation of CUP, at least not in its latest version format.  It *may* be possible because HSFX uses the "Files" mod folder but there maybe some conflicts...  HSFX is installed directly on top of IL-2, while CUP is installed over SAS ModAct, so there are some differences.  In the past I successfully installed HSFX as a "mod" on top of SAS ModAct so I could get the content, but it took some work.

Currently this may be a case in which you may need two instances of IL-2 installations... IL-2 with latest 4.12 is about 6.6GB, and HSFX is about 5.6GB... so considering today's large hard drives, it is not too bad.  CUP (including IL-2, updates, Mod Act and the four CUP modules) as it stands today is about 40GB.

After the release I'll try to do some digging and see if it is possible.

  • "And you can fly, high as a kite if you want to..

Anyone remember how this all started some 14 - 15 years ago? The demo that interrupted the then up-to-date CFS 3 with russian AC:s! And then look where we are now!

Remember it like it was yesterday...
Downloaded this demo Flight sim and took it for a spin.
WOW had to buy this...got it as soon as it came out and started the frustrating process of learning  taking off, engaging bandits, bombing ground targets and of course landing. Could not for the life of me see ground targets, and only occasionally able to bring down an enemy plane...but man was it fun, and has been my favorite sim ever since

This is bl**dy amazing!! I'm looking forward to having a trimmed down install as I dont fly post war jet stuff or WW1 - although the whole lot looks absolutely awesome!

BTW Have you decided which 'effects' package your using? Just straight 4.12?

Uber (and the guys) this is totally jaw dropping and for free - I still cant believe it!

Not ready for release yet.  Think of it as a bunch.

I don't feel comfortable releasing this info in detail without permission from Monty because of expectations and possible last minute changes.  As of now I can give you some idea of what is present, and even that is tentative:

Module 2:  Dawn of Flight (DOF)/WW1:
* 100+ aircraft, subdivided into Axis and Allied Scouts, Recce, Bombers, Airships and Seaplanes.
* Sampling:  Fokkers (E.III, Triplane, D.VII, etc), Albatross', AEGs, Nieuports, Sopwith (Camel, Triplane, Pup, etc), SE5, SPAD...
* I think you will find more than enough of the expected planes, plus more in this... and there are ground objects to complement the era.

Module 3:  World at War (WAW)/WW2:
* A ridiculous number of aircraft, something along the lines of 700+  planes divided into major Axis and Allied categories plus 3 drivable vehicles
* Sampling... just too much to think about.

Module 4:  The Jet Age (JTW)/post-WW2 to present:
* 200+ Aircraft subdivided into NATO and Eastern Block, single and multi-prop and helicopters.
* Sampling:  P-80 family, Sabre family, MiG-15 to 21 Family, F-4 & F-100 family, A-4 and A-7 families, Skyraiders, late Mustangs/Corsairs/Spit/Lavochkins and others, a good sampling of helicopters.
* Highlights/Showcases:  Tu-95, F/A-18, Su-25, Yak-36, AV-8, AH-1 Cobra, Mi-24 Hind
* and a few Frankens which were good enough to include for fun and convenience (like U-2, F-104, etc.)

Yes, I was there from the beginning, to include that first "Leaked Demo".  BTW, the missions from that Demo, the Official Demo, and the missions from the first IL-2 pre Forgotten Battle patches are all included in CUP.  I had released those a while back but Monty was cool enough to include them in the install.

In addition to the modifications within CUP, there are a few MODs which are user selectable from JSGME.  The effects ones affect all modules (WW1, 2 and modern), while some Mods are for certain modules... it is all clearly labeled.  Below are the mods that affect all three modules:
#CUP_Big Clouds by Manysh
#CUP_Blender Waves Type A by Herra Tohtori
#CUP_Blender Waves Type C by Herra Tohtori
#CUP_Forgotten Countries
#CUP_FOV Mod
#CUP_FX_Small Collection
#CUP_Gore For All Planes by Wolfighter
#CUP_MissionProCombo-v4122
#CUP_True Color HD Skins by Carsmaster (required for modern planes)
#CUP_VisualMOD8-v4122
#CUP_VisualMOD9-v4122
#CUP_Water=4 by Carsmaster
