as promised, here are my sound settings from the conf.ini

other than that, I do not use any fancy sound setup, just what Simon has suggested in the release threads for the newTFM for DBW back some moons ago, so you might check there for additional info as my conf.ini in 4.12 is now the same as I have used for 4.10 DBW/newTFM...
oh and I forgot to mention I am using a SB Recon 3d soundcard and no onboard chip solution for example....

does "soundmode=2" actually work on your machine? if yes, that might explain a difference in what we hear.

Code: [Select]
SoundMode=X
X= 0: default
     1: minimal 3D Sound (fastest)
     2: balanced
3: Full (slowest 3D Sound engine mode)

on my system only 0 works, if i set it to 1, 2 or 3 i will see the following message in my logfile (the game still works and everything)

Code: [Select]
Cannot setup 3d algorithm.Settings will be reset to DEFAULT.
so i guess that means i don't have any 3d sound at all. i have just the onboard sound and a professional audio device for music making. both work fine with modern games (i get 3d accelerated sound in modern directX games), but il-2s old way trying to get the dx7 hardware acceleration isn't compatible with those...

EDIT: actually i guess i can get "soundmode = 1" to work without the error message, by forcing eax1 and using samplingrate 1 (22050mhz)... but i really can't hear any big difference ingame...

i do like the old 4.12 jivers sound pack on-top of my CUP installation though, anyway. i have to stop obsessing over these details. i can't get any flight time, because i spent so much time changing config parameters and try to see if i can hear/see a difference. haha

Thanks for the time you spent on that Decipher.

I will keep having a look at that for a while but I may use the Jivers soundpack for 4.12 as you do. Did you get any compatible issue with it so far? (or just log messages without any real impact ingame?)

Thanks again for the help.

LOL! busdriver proves "ask and ye shall receive". I live for this stuff, so it wasn't more than I wanted by any means (perhaps DBR will disagree). It really is a miracle that anyone has gotten something like a Phantom to work in IL2 at all. That someone who has actually flown one of these planes can say that it's even in the general vicinity of realistic is high praise. IL2 is truly an old dog; that these guys around here can teach her new tricks is pretty damn cool.......... That said, the input of guys like you is certain to make it even better, at least up to the point of what's possible.

View setting problem
« Reply #1167 on: April 04, 2015, 10:23:20 AM »

Installed everything and works fine except:

Two view settings don't work any longer

"fly by view" (in German: Vorbeiflug). If I push the correct button on my Joystick the game doesn't react

Same with pursuit view (Camera behind the plane), in German Verfolgungsansicht.

All other settings work without any problems

Any help welcome! Thank you!

Würger,
Just for a try.
Have you tried to map a keyboard key for these two functions in Control Setup and see if it works then?
IL2 being an older Sim does not see more than one controller, and all your joystick options may not be seen in game.
I have CH Products and can make a Map file for my Rudder pedals, and joystick and throttle control so they all look like one controller.
However that said - not all of the buttons and leavers can be set up.
If you can at least map a key on the keyboard to the function you want. It will let you know that in game the function is working OK.

No...it would involve opening up the sfs structure of the module thereby eliminating the advantage of the whole thing...
if you dont like waw use tfm for 4.12 and mod that one...it offers more flexibility in that regard

The SAAB Tunnan overheats while on the runway , so it cannot take off...

Good morning to you all, Ihave re-installed CUP after my first attempt a couple of weeks ago. Took the long way from 4.07 to 4.12.2 with 5.3 and than added the different modules. Game loads ok, but I still have the problem with the Ju-88C version And I'm sure I use the latest versions of WAW pt 04 and 07. I even copied the files back into the game after I understood how important it is to keep to the sequence. But it did not improve. I also have a problem with the Fw-190A-4 versions (only the -4 version) wich I remember from the original pack:

Only than I could remove some propellor mod that caused this. And also the floating propellors from the Ta-152C (only the C version) remains:
Further I would like to hear some advise on the air.ini file; I have a lot of planes 'slashed out' of the list, but every time there's an update this will be written over by the newe version. I saved the last version but that was renamed air.ini.txt after that and I could not get it back to its initial form.
