Back in post 879 I raised an issue I was having with Carsmasters Water = 4 not working in my installation when activated. I mentioned that when the mod was enabled none of the maps would work in QMB or Single Mission (Mission loading failed: Landscape 'Kuban/load.ini loading error).  I tried with only Water=4 mod enabled (no other mods)  and still no maps. I know two other people have had the same problem and have mentioned this in their posts. My log file was the same as one of these, ie it included the following: INTERNAL ERROR: LoadTextureFromTga('MAPS/_Tex/water/animated/waternoise00.tga')

As clearly very few people are having this issue, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Would be very grateful for any help here. This is such a great mod that I am keen to get it to work but just do not know how to!

Thanks again

Best wishes

EDIT UPDATE: Tried a new install of CUP from scratch with just WAW: same problem. No maps with Water=4.
EDIT UPDATE 2: Tried using the conf file from a previous TFM installation (for 4.12) and it worked!

CUP is working wonderfully for me now. It is a great credit to all involved.

If anyone is interested, I have Gurner's 412 Effects working on top in WAW. One must ensure the following class files are removed:

949499C0F4E85D88
64F63BC6574C11DE
8A318408BB7C513E

(these represent Gurney's Distance Mod). Thanks of course to Gurney for his great mod.

By the way, am I the only one finding the old MiG3's in CUP?

Skyhigh, you're not the only one. They are the old Mig 3's in CUP.

Thank you. My eyes still work! I did a temporary fix by digging up an Aviaskins file containing the new MiG-3's and adding in a separate file of Jeronimo's cockpit upgrade.

That's great SkyHigh, we will get around to the Aviaskins MiGs - They are on the list; should see them in a subsequent upgrade.  All I can say is; I overlooked them second time around because we had our hands full...

Found the answer to my missing maps.

The answer is RTFM !

Use JSGME to activate Mission Pro Combo and there they all are  laid out for ease of use.

On another subject; loading issues, parachute errors, boot-up delays, in-game slide shows et al... usually signal a lack of PC resources.  Aside from a good rig, by today's standards, a good graphics card is the most important thing for flight-simming.  I'm not suggesting a super-rig is necessary, but a good modern machine with plenty of RAM and a card at least on a par with NVIDIA GTX 750+ will banish all graphic woes.  Il2-C.U.P. doesn't push a modern graphics card at all, but even a two-year-old card will struggle and lap tops won't do either.

Any comments on my lap top:

I5-2430M 2.4GHz
NVidia GT 540M 1GB GDDR3
8GB RAM DDR3 1333MHz

Thanks...

Well no, obviously you have a good laptop, you know what I mean though.  I don't like smartphones either...  ;D

is it possible that not all of Jeros great 3d fixes of the cowls and engines are included? I think I saw edgy cowling on the Ratas that only went away when I threw in Jeros fixes from TFM 4.12 :)
oh and as a PTO freak, I also noticed that the J1N1S still has the old cockpit with the unusable gunsights; also easily fixed with the addition of the cockpit mod available here;
just nitpicking now because CUP as it is is very very good already...

Thanks to both Hamm66 and Griffon_301  ;)

heya spartan!

as Hamm just posted, check for a _ru extension in the properties file for the mission;
I checked my install and also had this problem with the non showing briefing text, deleting _ru cured that;
so bottom line - you need to files with the same name for each mission, one the mis file, one the properties file...

Roger!

Thanks a lot. I´ll try right away. It looks like a wonderful campaign!  :-* :-* :-*

By the way, Do I have to activate anything in the config.ini to use the Beacons. I can turn them on but nothing seems to happen....

Deleted the _ru and it did the trick. Thanks a lot, pals.  ;D

No explanation required, Monty. The scale of this endeavour is mind-boggling and what typifies it is not these tiny omissions, but how few there are of them. Considering the enormous mass of material and how staggeringly complicated is the interaction between so many different mods from such diverse sources, the quality control has been absolutely top-class.

Hello and thanks for this great mod!!
I installed and it works fine at the moment. But one question...

Does any Era module have different splash and menu screens??

Because I see the same background and splash screen in the 3 modules. (The screen of a hangar with a P-47 and a Spitfire inside from Modact).
Is that normal?

All my missions and campaigns are being re-built to the new standard.

Do you plan to update the DGen Campaigns at some point as well?
