but why?
we have modern glass towers...
we have F-18's...
terrorism is rampant...
we might intercept hijacked planes and do a good thing.

why not?

hey.
i never heard you say no to enola gay...

where does the fun begin, where does the fun end?
war kills civilians, war is an extension of politics.

...and as always...

Okay, post edited, "please" added.

we might intercept hijacked planes and do a good thing.
In my mind's eye I see you explaining the bereaved how this was "a good thing".
I'm sure this will ease their pain.

why not?
Because it's tasteless.

i never heard you say no to enola gay...
I say nukes are for sissies.
You need to read and check your sources.

where does the fun begin, where does the fun end?
I'm not here to teach you.
If you don't know where the fun ends (and frankly sometimes you give the impression you don't) then with a little luck someone will eventually show you, but I'm not sure you'll get the message.

war kills civilians
True.

war is an extension of politics.
Ewww...
Citing Clausewitz would require you to stop cross-reading and dive a tad deeper into the topic.
This is a good starting point:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_von_Clausewitz#Interpretation_and_misinterpretation
Hint: That sentence... 'was not intended as a statement of fact. It is the antithesis in a dialectical argument whose thesis is the point – made earlier in the analysis – that "war is nothing but a duel [or wrestling match, a better translation of the German Zweikampf] on a larger scale." ' (see link above).

...and as always...
ship happens.
So true.
Good summary of this request.

Best regards - Mike

Yes someone really needs to make passenger plane like Comet, DC 9, DC 10, Boeing 747, Boeing 727, 737 etc. I know that this is a combat flight simulator. I mean we have modern planes like F 18s, Migs, even we have DC 3 in game and helicopters and MI 8T which was made for transporting passengers but we dont have passenger planes. Only these planes are missing. It would be great if someone starts to make passenger planes for IL 2.

lolz
Clausewitz
i wasnt citing anyone... just a thought.
don't even know who the fella is/was, nor do i intend to.

taste?
taste does not matter... what is taste, what is good taste, what is bad taste.
we already have civilian planes in the game, and i am sure all of the civilian planes can be used in an evil... hijack... intercept... scenario.
Ford Trimotor, DC3, Vectra, or Airbus. same thing.

Nukes are for sissies...
don't know what to make of that. yanks, frenchies, brits and russkis, all those countries  (or their nuke controlling organisms?) are sissies?
...oooh-kay? *confused*
my point was "there are bad , really bad things in the game that in real life killed entire cities - busting an airliner is for beginners compared to nuking cities."

fun and the limits of fun
hey. you are part of the group that holds the key.
i get all sorts of messages - if there is a specific message i should understand, just say "get the hell outtahere" or something.

Let the Man request his Comete... that thing was a big leap forward, and the deaths of the people aboard them [square windows... fatigue...something - off the top of my head] were a part of what led to new understandings that are commonplace today.

last but not least...
we have seen worse requests, and sillier ones too.

G;

not me - i'm dum as ...

hold on. now we go in the aforementioned area of taste, don't we... and where the fun is and starts and stops.

whoever rang that gong and put us in a ring: aint playin' the game... never will. boring.

...i could even be offended..."i know i am dumb... but to suppose i am THAT DUMB to discuss such matters with a man such as Stotrebror... "
that is an insult. an insult that even a dummie like me can understand.

How about this:
simply create that airliner and have it armored like ten Goddamned yamamatos. Yamamoto. Tamagoshi. whatever that Japanese BB is called.

Or  - even simpler- have it without any hitboxes at all...

i mean, its as with the ancient times.
a thousand ways lead to rome.

...right?

Let the Man request his Comete...
Yes sure we do.
The request is still here, isn't it?

But now you should start reading at page 1 again.
Glynn rightfully stated that if this request should make sense in a game like IL-2 at all, it would have to be about the Nimrod.
Hell, that broad hint even got explained further on and now I'm explaining it again, must be silly season again...

Because this part of the initial request
as far as I know, there isn't a single jet airliner plane that has been made for il2
already describes most of it's absurdity.
Do you remember how you got to IL-2?
I bet money that "uhm... I want to play a nice flightsim where I can fly jet airliners" is not the right answer.
And if "uhm... I want to play a nice flightsim where I can shoot jet airliners" should be the right one, then better get out of my way asap.
