The work to update my old campaigns to modded 4.12 goes on  :) Next is this one:



"Battle for France - MB-152" is a semi-historical, static 17-mission campaign, set during the Battle for France 1940. You are a French fighter pilot flying the Bloch MB152. The campaign commences with the Blitzkrieg phase, starting on May 10, with the actions against Belgium, swiftly followed by the breakthrough at Sedan, the dash for the Channel, and finally the air actions of the final weeks before the armistice on June 25. (At this date French aerial resistance had virtually ceased, with a number surviving aircraft withdrawing to French North Africa.) Many missions in this campaign are based on actual events.

This version of the campaign has been built in HSFX 7. There is no need for additional updates if you have this pack. Just install and off you go. The same goes for TFM 412. If you use CUP you will have to D/L and install both the Bloch MB-152 and the LeO-451. (Also, you will have to change the names of the proporties files by removing the "_ru" suffix from them, thus "france1940_mb152-1_ru.properties" is changed into "france1940_mb152-1.properties".)

It also comes with 24 skins (courtesy of RDDR, VP_Media, Leperemagloire, Agracier, A1_Phoenix, Cannon, Imme, Boelcke, Macwan, Jbunelle and Skuli_Thor) a new background for France (the standard one shows a Soviet aircraft...) plus new, contemporay menu music, to enhance immersion a bit.

Thanks, but CUP doesn't include the MB-152 or the Leo 451 by default, so they will need to be installed separately.

Great campaign! Works in CUP. But, you have to delete the _ru from the prop files to get the briefings.

I'm currently working on a validator that will check campaigns against installs to make sure that all aircraft, loadouts, objects, and such are present for the missions. As I'm developing it, I'm using this campaign to check it against CUP. It's WIP, so there are still some false positives that I'm sorting out, but here is the log if you're interested in making it truly CUP-compatible. In addition to the Bloch and Leo missing, you also need to change the entry for the Hurricane 1 early to HurricaneMkIvroeg (CUP has changed it). There are also some missing vehicles, objects, and tanks. Ignore the Do-17 loadout issues, that's only because the weapons.prop doesn't have any entries (I'm working on fixing that).

I hope you take this as me trying to be helpful- your campaigns are some of the best around and I'm looking forward to having them all work in a CUP install. I'll also release the validator once I've fixed the remaining issues, so that any campaign maker can easily check, and then ask the CUP team for anything missing to be included.

Sounds like a great idea, and it will be very helpful, I'm sure.  :)

Didn't know that the names have been changed for the same items, which is really a pain in the rear department for anyone who want to build campaigns for both HSFX and TFM/CUP...  :\'(

I will certainly use it when I have sorted out my CUP install.

that´s really a shame, but the Hurricane has been changed since long...even my (rather old by now) original newTFM install lists the early Hurri as HurricaneMkIvroeg and so does TFM 4.12;
I will check the campaign in my install "live" now and report back...should not be too hard to troubleshoot that one..

it´s me again; Peter, if you like, shoot me a PM; I can try and help you a little bit with sorting out CUP with regards to objects that are in or are not...I tried some of your missions of this campaign and #1 loads ok for me so far, for example #16 gives me 4 errors with regard to vehicles;
one, the SomuaS35 is easily resolved; the other three are more difficult; for example, in none of my game installs, I have a civilbrowntruck, yet that one is called by the mission files; the SDKFZ251 is in my install, but is not loaded properly, I will check that one, the 231 is also missing, but I do not find that one in the chief.ini either...
