That's an ugly airplane.

I would like to open this topic to see what aircraft you guys qualify as ugly.

Post pictures and history if possible.

Mine would be the Borovkov-Florov I-207

It is so ugly I can't even begin to understand why it was built at all.

Here's the link for the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borovkov-Florov_I-207

Have fun with this topic guys, I expect to see some butt ugly aircraft.

Sincerely,

PvF

No such thing as an ugly aircraft. Only aircraft with personality.

Very true. Aircraft are beautiful in their own individual ways. But I was asking for the readers opinion on which aircraft they find unattractive.

The G/H Mitchell are the ugliest of the whole family.
The Emil is ugly, in a similar manner i find the Allison P-40s ugly.
so is the I-16

most biplanes from the Gladiator and earlier i find unattractive, no matter how streamlined their fuselage... (hawker hind family) just ruined by the double decker layout.

the Wellesley is ugly.
The Guppy is unattractive
The Whitley... crooked piece of butt-uglyness
That I-250... ugly.
The IAI Phalcon... 707 with a fat nose. Ugly. GO AWAY! get a Nosejob!
Beriev Bartini VVA 14... is this a plane or an alien spacecraft?

The Gannet. BEURK!
The X-32... creepy smiley SLUF!

the Goblin... where are the wings? how did this thing stay stable? burn in hell you rotten egg...
the IL-40... so so... not 100% ugly but 78.5%...

There is a lot of technically usefull stuff out there that really hurts my eyes!

Jeeese. way to ruin a nice design.

and the Havoc.... the helicopter. What... that thing have Lepra or what...
the SE-100... like the original Citroen DS like it or hate it. hate. :)

gotta stop there... god what ugly planes!

Remove the top wing, and I'd be getting chased by ladies all over the world. It's not THAT bad.. There's worse...

I must admit that the pitot tube spoils the design.

that little biplane ... the pilots sight must have been desastrous! It reminds me a bit of the GeeBee however .. I mean if you remove the upper wing

I can't recall that early italian raceplane, looked similar to the Gee-Bee,
that was an ugly design, to me, but this italian one topped ugliness.
It had a huge engine, btw the whole plane was built around it,
but it seemed like a naval Diesel Engine or from an early coal steamer.
The whole Polikarpov familly is very unattractive,
despite them being tolerated in my install. UKs 20, 30s were
not topped by anything attractive throughout the Commonwealth, hence the
ugly naming, Calcutta, Katlambuk, Hawker Crap...one of this looked like Cpt. Ahabs friend.
Just recently read about the FAA in this period, the pictures where not adoring... :P
Before they had Wildcats there was a terrible sight, bulky nosed Biplanes,
no foldable hooks, large sticked hooks from whale hunting vessels were used to catch a wire.
Rear Gunners came directly from whaling fishery, as they knew how to hook up.
P0rrrn, ahem sorry, beauty, to me begins with the monoplane racers that led to the Hurricane, Spit,
Heinkel whatever and Messerschmitt Designs. Speed and aerodynamics, yeah baby...
You're no plane, you're an experiment  :-[
