So many times I've seen AI pilots, especially experienced AI pilots in campaigns, bail out of their plane while skidding across the ground, and dying. Meanwhile the aircraft tumbles and rolls and comes to a stop intact.  If it were to explode it would be fatal anyways, but many times it does not. Instead once the damaged plane comes to a stop, the crew would bail like a normal ditching or belly landing.

Just wondering if a mod that changes AI pilot bailout behavior is possible for situations like these. Speed and altitude would be the main limitations. In theory, it doesn't seem like it would be too complicated to code. Maybe an experienced modder could add a few thoughts here...

I thought this had been largely fixed in 4.12. At any rate, this used to bother me, but I haven't really seen it happen in a long time.
