Well,
Here is a second final update  ;D

https://www.mediafire.com/download/f9aijn0ebd63z9d/FW_PNG_UPDATE.7z

1) beaches painted and detailed both coasts East and West. I used the original beach texture.
2) 'The Big Scrub' as it was known back then. It was from just past Townsville to around Iron Range.
Painted on as a layer to make things easier on map_T :D
3) Thursday Island-populated
4) A mission added near Jacky Jacky airfield
5) Coen- populated
6) A track from Coen to the mission and coast (west) of Jacky Jacky airfield (I still have to add track from Cairns to Coen)
7) Portland road track added from East Coast to Iron Range complex
8) Added a road under construction from Iron Range  along the East coast
9) Detailed more airstrips with hangars control towers etc
10) Wooded the Torres Strait Islands and detailed beaches

I replaced an airfield texture with one of White Cat's textures please put in the _Tex folder as follows in the update whc/land/pacific/

I've included dpeters indexed ed maps in the update as well  ;D

Again I have just textured the beaches ONLY and the wood in Far North Queensland. I have NOT done any other land texturing.

Enjoy  :D

Final update rivers for Cape York Peninsula

ben_wh brought this to my attention.

Good old SE church 10 is acting up again

See the lines that you need below yes the first one is a typo.

If by some chance you do not have an objects pack in sfs file mode as I do I mostly used
Darwin Objects and only a few SEHouses as well as in game objects perhaps a TOW telephone pole.

[buildings.House$]SEchurch10]
Title           SEchurch10
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/SouthernEurope/SEchurch10/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/SouthernEurope/SEchurch10/dead.sim
AlignToLand     0
Body            RockMiddle
Panzer          0.2

Remove the ] in the middle from above top line to the following.

HSFX 7:
[buildings.House$SEchurch10]
Title           SEchurch10
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/SouthernEurope/SEchurch10/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/SouthernEurope/SEchurch10/dead.sim
AlignToLand     0
Body            RockMiddle
Panzer          0.2

Thanks ben_wh good old SEchurch 10 strikes again  :D

Does this map work in SAS modact 4.12.2 or HSFX.7

Is there an object pack that is needed?

I can't seem to save missions in either a basis SAS 4.12.2 or HSFX7.03--I would be grateful for any guidance.  It loads, but wont save missions, and I think I have a lot of objects loaded.

In my MA 5.30 install this map work very well(I have all "up_maps","up_objects" and "up_textures" in my "SFS_AUTO"),you have 3 updates:"Actorsstatic","Reduced Size..." and "FW_PNG_Update FNQ"-(look at date) and instal in this order:1.FW_... 2.Actors... 3.Reduced... maybe this help
I made test without all UP SFSs and map working equal: I can save and play missions

For csvousden,

I work in 4.12.2 SAS Modact 3.5 but I have an objects pack sfs files installed.
That is the first install I do for map making :D
You can get the objects pack sfs files version over at M4T
Just thinking of it other objects used are KevenP's road plate and path plates PalmgroupA3 (the nice green one)and  some bananas from Fabian Fred.
Everything used are in the objects sfs files pack it's the way to go these days.  ;D
I can't give objects due to having the sfs file pack.

If anyone is wondering, this map works well in CUP.  That is what I'm currently using.

Thanks!  I stole stuff from The Full Monty and now the map works well.  I love this area of the world.  There are some great books about the fighting over New Guinea and Rabaul.  Now I can fly them in my game as well as in my head.

For Tomcat Zombie

To paint Cape York Peninsula I really need about 5 texture slots
If possible can I change keep two airfield slots
One for Cape York Peninsula and another for PNG and the rest etc.
If possible keep one city texture for Port Moresby and Lae

That way I'd have 5 texture slots for Cape York Peninsula to paint by hand with NEW textures.
The area was mostly green on the coast and quite dry semi arid  savannah country inland.
very different to PNG.
The new texture slots would be in Airfield and city only. :D

If you watch Bush Tucker Man on you tube you will see. He travels all over Cape York, Northern Territory, W.A and everywhere to far reaching places of Australia.

Kirby, I said it before and I don't change my mind about it now : do whatever you want with this map. You're doing a great work so it will be a shame to bother you with some inappropriate texture  :D

Anyway, because of the area covered, I guess this map will be a matter of compromise with the use of textures, and from my point of view, you know better than me what is really needed.

 ;)

The download in first post is up to date with the latest files.

Hi Tomcat_Zombie,
No harm in checking with the original creator first  :D

I am just centering on the Cape York Peninsula area to get Far North Queensland in to the war. ;)
Some one or some others can tackle PNG. Out of interest I have some populated PNG villages in this map ( by me)

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,38695.0.html

People can easily copy and paste the PNG villages over but you need Max The Hitman's painted huts.  look for the villages near the lone airstrip East on the map at the foot hills of the mountain range.

Update coming soon  map_h rivers and bank detailing.
