Your mission saving problem will be an objects situation.

I remember 4.09 and the gazillion objects files you had to have in the game.

While I worked on and populated Cape York Peninsula I used a lot of Darwin objects from Neil Lowe's Darwin map and

Cannon's bitumen runway plates for the plates up on Horn island

Also Sechurch 10 from SEhouses by Uff can be an issue there is a typo in the static.ini entry

You rebellers  :D olden times  :D

Do you have the sfs objects pack? If not get it is pretty mandatory these days  ;D

I use the sfs objects pack and everything used as objects are in that pack including SeHouses ( with fixed typo )

Thanks for the comprehensive link, Dennis!
 :)

Just a short note ;) : In most of my installs, the all.ini resides in:
Name of Mods folder aka #SAS/#UP#/Mods/MapMods/Maps.

Surely I miss something here due to bein' in an early morning zone. ;)
Best Regards

Thorsten

Thorsten, correct if you have other maps installed the active copy will reside there.  Now that he has installed this map, he will have a copy in the "#UP#\Mods\MapMods\Maps" folder as you have indicated.  Since greybeard was uncertain how to install this map, I was assuming he had not installed other maps in his #UP# folder.  In that case, the only other place I know of that he could find a active copy was in the "#UP#\STD\com\Maddox\il2\objects" folder.  At least that is where it resides in my UP installation.  I only use UP to create/edit maps (It's a easier/smaller install)  I actually use CUP for playing...

Thanks TZ!
Keep an eye out, there will be one more update from me in the next few days.  I had most of it ready for when Kirby finished up  ;D
Unless the users have additional requests this will finish our work on this map.  It's been an interesting and satisfying 4 1/2 months.  As per user requests, I will be starting a new PNG_AUS 1942 version of this map shortly.

Just a little reminder for the SAS community  :D

This PNG map was given as a gift to the SAS community by Tomcat Zombie and his squad  ;D
Any extra additional work (Cape York Peninsula/Torres Strait/The Great Barrier Reef/shallows and other reefs on PNG west coast) by SAS~Farang65 is a gift to the SAS community.  :D
Any extra work by Dpeters (Dennis) PNG and further work by him (looking forward to it ;D) is a gift to the SAS community.  ;D

Cheers

********** FINAL SCHEDULED UPDATE **********

Well, it's been about 4 1/2 months and this is our final scheduled update!  Is it the last?  Well, that's up to all of you users.  If anyone has recommended changes or requests, just post in this forum and I will do whatever I can to make it happen.  If a couple of months go by without requested changes, I will move this download as a final to the PTO section of the Maps forum.

With this update, I believe that all previous user requests have been fulfilled.  Also, I think all the changes that SAS~Farang65 and I set out to include in this map are now present.  We both would like to thank the original creator, Tomcat_Zombie, for allowing us the freedom to make changes/updates to this map and hopefully make it much better.

Here is what is included in this final update:

1)  The Gasmata Airfield has been added on New Britain.  It is not useable due to allied bombing since May 1943.  But, it is there!

2)  Cleared more trees from water areas all over the map.  Phew, I hope I got most of them!  :P

3)  Added villages all over the map.  They are hard to see but here is an example near Lae:

4)  Checked many more runways for proper operation.  Fixed some taxi waypoints (for proper taxi and parking) and runway points (for proper takeoff positioning).

5)  Separated and reshaped some land masses that were joined together that should not have been.  Here is one example where Buka Island and Bougainville were joined together that I separated:

BEFORE

AFTER

6)  Re-textured more areas including New Ireland that needed some improvement.

7)  And last but not least, one of the original user requests that I knew was going to be a BIG job.  Make the Wau and Bulolo Airfields useable!  Due to the scale of this map, the two areas were pinched between mountain ranges which made takeoff and landing impossible for the AI aircraft and very difficult for player aircraft.  Well, after seeing a picture of the area, I realized that the two airfields were not that closely surrounded by the mountains in real life (1:1 scale).  So, after a lot of terraforming, they are now both useable airstrips:

WAU

Bulolo

Note:  This is not just the update files.  This is the full download for the final version.  Here is the download link:

https://www.mediafire.com/download/50de4jsq6774r7e/PNG_AUS_Full_Update_8_23_15.7z

Installation Instructions:

To use JSGME to add the map:

1)  Decompress the download and copy the "AUS_PNG Full Update 15_08_2015" folder to your jsgmemods folder.
2)  Create a new folder depending on your version of IL-2 (i.e. #UP#, #DBW, etc.) inside the "AUS_PNG Full Update 15_08_2015" folder and then move the "MAPMODS" folder and it's contents inside that new folder.
For v4.09 the path would now be "...jsgmemods\AUS_PNG Full Update 15_08_2015\#UP#\MAPMODS\MAPS\etc...
3)  Then add the line contained in the file, "Add this to your all.ini file" (located inside "MAPS" folder) to the top of a copy of your current "all.ini" file and save it to the "MAPS" folder.  If you have previously installed maps to your IL2 version, your current "all.ini" file is located in the "#UP#\Mods/MapMods/Maps folder.  If you have not previously installed new maps, your current "all.ini" file is located in the "#UP#\STD\com\Maddox\il2\objects" folder.  Replace "#UP#" with "#DBW", etc. depending on the mods folder of your IL2 version.
4)  Activate the map in JSGME.

To direct install:
1)  Decompress the download and copy the "MAPMODS" folder and it's contents directly to your #UP# (or #DBW, etc.) folder.  If it already exists, merge the two folders.
2)  Then add the line contained in the file, "Add this to your all.ini file" (inside "MAPS" folder) to the top of a copy of your current "all.ini" file and save it to the "MAPS" folder.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, The 1942 version of this map will be posted very shortly in the WIP area of the Maps forum.

I hope everyone enjoys the map and creates some fantastic missions for all of us to fly!

Thank you very much to both of you guys ;)

Does this map work in SAS modact 4.12.2 or HSFX.7
I can't seem to save missions in either a basis SAS 4.12.2 or HSFX7.03--I would be grateful for any guidance.  It loads, but wont save missions, and I think I have a lot of objects loaded.
I have the same problem... I can see map in Full Mission Builder, can put different objects on them...
But I can't save missions and can't fly missions - nothing happens when I try to do it...

Thanks!  I stole stuff from The Full Monty and now the map works well.  I love this area of the world.  There are some great books about the fighting over New Guinea and Rabaul.  Now I can fly them in my game as well as in my head.
cv

Please, give me the link of these objects packs...

And what way should I install them in HSFX7.03?

This is Boomer's sfs objects pack.

This is what I use in my 4.12 modact 5.3 (map making as well)

This is the first thing I install before any mods as it is quite a pack of objects.

I have downloaded this map, finished or not, because it is so great (DBW 1.71 and it works fine). There was a map like this started a few years ago by Aus Salmo but nothing came of it. This theatre is so huge it loses nothing by being half scale and it means you have a piece of Bougainville on the same map as Rabaul which is v. useful for historic bombing missions. Also Lae is now on the same map as Port Moresby which is a delight for fans of Saburo Sakai, but best of all we now have a map with Wewak, Dagua etc. so we can play a full New Guinea campaign. I may say it is also a delight not to have to install lots of new and unnecessary objects.

 I salute everyone involved.

Many thanks for the advice!

I used CLASSIC MOD GAME installation way of this objects pack for HSFX 7.03. But I don't know what are the five Objects pack folders in the Mods folder which I should de-activate... So I missed first step. I downloaded four sfs files from your link and put them into root game folder. Then I opened Files/.rc file and add at the bottom, before '#preload REGISTER' the following:-
@sfs MOUNT up_objects01.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects02.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects03.sfs
@sfs MOUNT up_objects04.sfs
Then I found the static.ini file here https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,30853.60.html (Boomer-Objects PLUS new default 4.12 objects - static.7z) and replaced by it static.ini in Mods\Std\com\maddox\il2\objects.
I think that _StaticIniImages in 'UP_3_Static_Objects' archive are unnecessary for me and I did nothing with them.
Map works!
But... after this installation I had spome small problems in game...
For example, TBM/TBF large armament (torpedoes and 2000 lb bomb) became visible through the bomb doors:

How can I fix it?
When I deleted all up_objects.sfs files and used backup copy of the static.ini this problem disappeared...

Sorry, if such problems should be discussed in other topic - please indicate in which...
