South American DH 9s
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:06:52 PM »

It looks like a few DH 9s showed up in South America in the 1920s.  The Peruvian aircraft (ca. 1922) was acquired through donations from the National Railroad workers thus the "F.C. Central" markings.  According to one source the Bolivian DH-9 "AM-1" "Coronel Salazar" may have been operating in the Chaco region at the beginning of the war.  The Chilean "Tacna" DH-9 was operational in the early 1920s and is reported to have participated in long-range raids on Tacna from Santiago.  Enjoy.
