Eye Candy
« on: April 22, 2015, 11:32:14 AM »

Hi all, I'm in the process of trying to build a semi-historic campaign (90 days over Normandy) my question is really how much eye candy do you guys use like around the airfield, things like that?

The reason I am asking is because I had a lot of vehicles moving around the airfield, but from the cockpit, you could only see 2 vehicles, so do you guys keep these really close to the plane only?

1 more question, is there a way to make humans "appear" not from the start of the mission, but lets say upon landing they appear around the hanger as you taxi up.

Kev;
eye candy is always good if it adds to the overall immersion factor.  Just because you can't see everything at once doesn't mean that it isn't worthwhile sticking it in a mission.
Vehicles moving around the airfields is always a good idea and helps add 'life' to a scenario.

Even a train moving in the distance and only seen from the air still gives the impression that there is 'life' beyond the limits of the airfield itself if you get my meaning.  Same goes for ships/boats offshore.

Ref the humans and "appearing" upon landing.  I don't think anyone has cracked that one as yet.   You can obviously do it with vehicles etc but I don't think it can be done with static objects.  Now, if someone was to create human figures as "moveable objects" then, theoretically, it could be done.
