Hey thanks.  I'll tweak some of the details, but keep it pretty much along the same lines.
The next bit is the tricky task of blending the river texture into the sea.  It's going to take a fair bit of experimentation to try to get right.  Hopefully I can figure something out.

Second version could also be used as a dry river bed with the right bank textures  :D

I like it. I almost did it with the Caucasus map but it required to many
texture slots.how many texture slots are you using?

Thanks.  Its using four textures with a fifth set aside for the spot where it meets the sea.  This is the AG Cape Gloucester map however, which has some issues with shallow water that I cannot fix and no room for allied bases.  For now its still a test until a different map comes along.
