Thank you very much for this island. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to spend some time there. ;D

Wow ... a beautiful blending of colors and textures and landscape ... if this is 'just' a first attempt at a map, imagine what it will be like with the next ones ... the rocks in the water are an incredibly well done bit of texturing ... first class.

Can't wait to see the next one you make ..

nice to see you've moved in, Bison_M. The place could do with a populace!
and thanks for the kind remarks, agracier.  I've long admired your work.
In regard to:  "...if this is 'just' a first attempt at a map,..."
if only that were so!
I've had maybe,  four earlier attempts- but none fit for public display!
I do hope to get one of them up to scratch,  soon-ish, maybe.

Just the thought: Is it possible to make a short runway (small airport)?

yes indeed - could do with a runway just where you show it
the first ever runway was built here in late 42 - and first plane to ever land ON the island was an NZ  Hudson, on Xmas day that year
I'm trying to find a picture of that airfield as it was in 42/3 - but no luck so far
on the other hand, I've no experience in building airfields at all, so if anyone is interested...

Making good airfields is a whole discipline unto itself. It can be time consuming and complicated ...

The easiest way is to copy/paste airfields from existing maps. Just use something easy for a first time. Complicated airfields can be done later on subsequent maps ...

The best is if you can find existing satellite images of old airfields. I've found a few on Google Earth that work fairly well for Pacific island fields from WWII. You need to do some editing of the textures of course, but it looks like you already know how to do that, given those great submerged rocks/shoals you made ...

Hi!

Any news about the 'airfieldization' of this nice map?
