How to export multi-parted mesh from 3D max?
« on: May 24, 2015, 07:18:57 AM »

Hello, guys.
I would like to know how to export meshes like CF_D0 (that have lods, shadows, collision) rightly?
I used to export it in that hierarchy:

And IL-2 recognised all the parts below main CF_D0 as collision, though they were also LODs and shadows...
So, how should I put them to export right? :(

I dont use a 3Dmax but from my own experieince with Gmax and the screen you posted i can tell it has something to do with wrong names/hierarchy of the objects linked to the CF_D0.Dont knew what exporter you use, Maraz or Buggy.

BuggyBuggy use specific names names for objects, they should be named with prefixes:lods with "Lod1", "Lod2" etc. , shadows "SHW", collision objects with "x" and hitboxes with ".xx" in name  i.e:"xcf1", "xcf2" and ".xxarmor", ".xxcontrols1" so exporter can regognize them "what is what" and export everything in right order.

Hope this helps.
