Hi Kingsley,
When you are happy with your engine update, will you be releasing it
as a beta for the community to try and test, if so count me in as a tester.
I also suffer a big frame drop when increasing the speed to test a mission.
All my missions run at 60 fpm on my machine even with loads of planes etc., but drops to 5-7 fpm when at X8 speed.
By the way windows 10 is due anytime now in the UK, will we be able to run IL2 1946?
because support for windows 7 and 8.1 will end sometime and I read that
Microsoft have stated that windows 10 will be the last operating system.
cheers edc1 (stan)

Yes indeed!  eMeL and I were talking about this last night. - The glory days of European Air War with hundreds of aircraft present in huge dogfights and strategic raids.  It appeals to the 'film director' inside of us.  Even after landing, or crashing, we would watch the other aircraft make their way back home.

Going forward - Many new sims still lack soul - I'm a sucker and try everything that's there.  But where is there a better mission builder tool than 412-FMB and variety? - Nothing comes close to what we have in CUP.

Il2 has its faults, its the most irritating thing there is at times.  It defies logic and pisses me off all the time with its weird ways and capricious habits. - Sorry, I appear to have started to talk about my wife, you know what I mean... ;D

Yes I know what you mean :-)

I just tried to remove some aeroplanes from the air.ini that I thought I'd probably never need like the prototypes and trainer aircraft and so on, but when I opened Il-2 afterwards I had one crash after the other. So I had to revert back to the original file, but the strange thing is even after reverting back to the original air.ini I had backed up beforehand, I am no longer able to play some campaigns because the game crashes on me every 5 minutes or so...

What on earth could have happened? I don't get it. Since I reverted back, everything should be back to normal, shouldn't it?  ???

For example that Desastersoft campaign I had mentioned earlier isn't working any more. The strangest thing is that now the mission generator wont let me fly in the right flight of planes any more, stating that my chosen rank would not be enough to fly in the flight the mission was designed for and that it changed my flight from g0102 to g0100. This flight even uses another type of aircraft (a 109F-4 instead of an E-7/B). Thus the mission crashes the game after about 10 seconds... This happens even when I use the highest rank available and has never happened before I changed something forth and back in the air.ini. WTF??????

I'm starting to believe in Gremlins...  :o
